    Inside from the fact that linux is a kernel and therefor doesn't have to have a UI (that's what GNU is for), UI isn't the heart of anything. It is a part at most equally important, and must be able to change over the other parts without affecting them.

    UI is important of course, but it isn't as fun to develop as the inner working, therefor less people want to do the job. That has nothing to do with backward approach.

    except that "office de la langue franÃaise" is a whole, so you should say "stupide office de la langue franÃaise". In this case, putting the adjectif in the end seems really odd to me.

    Well that's what synaptics is for, isn't it?

    Or even "better" the software install/remove utility. You even have to touche your keyboard to use it. I damn know well how people can be stupid or fake to be when it come to computer of all things but this is just dumb easy.

    Google can't help you being credible insulting in french. I would have said

    or

    "Casse toi, pauvre con!" (Wich is politically correct since our president said it.)

    In fact, I think even a french troll wouldn't say that. It would have been a little longer with maybe some good godwin point. And he would probably had written in english with the help of google.

    Broken means something isn't working as it should, not that there is a replacement.

    My autoradio doesn't work anymore, and I don't have a replacement. It's still broken. (yes, I know it's a bad car analogy, but I wanted to do a car analogy. )

    From what I know about it, having red test from the past (The pre-historic 20th century ), I think we are worse at academics in more than one domaine. That said, I wouldn't blame the internet : the fall begun before the year 2000. I would blame the need of having 80% success for a university to be considered a good one. Usually, instead of looking for what goes wrong in the learning process, they just lower the expectations...

    And for google, nobody is stupid enough to trust them to give unbiased search results... I think you overestimate humanity. Some peoples believe what they want to believe, especially if it's easy for them to believe. Hell, some peoples do believe in horoscopes...

    Since when Microsoft is a reference in economic fairness?

    By the way, I'm sure programmers are not against financial reward, but most don't do it for that, so it's not an actual issue. The issue would be ether or not corporation should use software witch aren't certainly maintained for a reasonable time.

    Also I wouldn't call a stopped project a wast, since anybody can take the source and re-start it. I wouldn't call the time spend on the stopped project a wast ether, since the programmer was probably doing what he liked. (or what he needed at the time) People do that all the time and nobody gets angry about it.

    I know a website which let you decide what you want in your PC, OS included, and put it together for you (if you want. If not, you can save a little money)

    Doesn't VMWare precisely emulate the hardware? I'm not really familiar with it, but I'm sure I don't have a direct access (well, manner of speaking) to the real hardware. Why is that if it is not an emulator?
