Not attorney, lobbyist. Think the difference is important. And yes, it should be applied to all lobbyists who become judges, regardless of their cause.
I didn't even watch the video and yet I'm pretty sure that is not at all a legal justification for murdering a federal judge who has sat on cases in which she has a conflict of interest.
I think your facts might be slightly off. Quick check on the Wiki page says that:
Magnetic tape was invented for recording sound by Fritz Pfleumer in 1928 in Germany...This invention was further developed by the German electronics company AEG, which manufactured the recording machines and BASF, which manufactured the tape.
The article linked in the story says
In 1934, a scientist for the company [Ma Bell] named Clarence Hickman built a voice answering machine that could record a callers audio message on a magnetic tape.
So it seems that Ma Bell had one of their researchers build such a machine, but I can't see anyone crediting him with inventing the device.
And of course the article goes on to state:
After coming to this conclusion, Ma Bell shut down all research in magnetic recording tapes, concealed Hickmanâ(TM)s research, and actively discouraged the use and development of this technology by others.
I don't know how accurate that is, but it does appear that Ma Bell has at least worked against the development of magnetic media and their associated devices.
As he prepared for the more rigorous work of a college class, Jake decided he ought to make sure he could master all high school-level math that would be required in college.
"In one two-week period, he sat on our front porch and learned all of his high school math," Kristine said. "He tested out of algebra 1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry and calculus."
You're right, mom slightly exaggerated. It seems that he had already learned the breadth of the basics of High-school math over the 12 years of his life. What he did was brush up and test out in two weeks to make sure that he had a firm knowledge of it.
Orion calls for specialized nuclear explosives to be developed, the weapons we currently have in stock are far too powerful for the use you want to apply them to.
Hey, some people like the detailed and intricate multiple page format of the graphic novel, others like the elegant and streamlined three frame format of the sunday comic strip. There is no right or wrong in preferring either, merely personal preference.
Maybe you don't work in customer service then, where you get the outage complaints directly? Or you don't work for Comcast, Time Warner or Cablevision. The first being a problem for me here in Houston, and the other two having many annoying outage periods when I lived in NYC.
Microsoft doesn't allege in its lawsuit that the Internet hosting companies knew that machines within their facilities were being used as part of Rustock.
I enjoy both hard and soft science fiction, though I tend not to like short stories which is why I avoid anthologies. The style of writing is less important to me than what type of overarching plot there is to the book, if the concept seems neat to me I'll plow through it. I like many crappy authors, probably from buying books from newsstands for so long.
Space Opera and Crew stories tend to strike my fancy the most in the genre. I don't really enjoy books that skip era's every few chapters, it was interesting with the Foundation books, but it just forced me to lose interest in Accelerando.
I should probably renew my old SFBC membership if they are still around.
Do you really believe that bullies would kill themselves or others if they were somehow forced to conform to ethical behaviour, or are you just using it to support your devil's advocate argument?
Already own World War Z, good recommendation. For Baxter I've only read Manifold: Time and Manifold: Space, with mixed reactions, but I'll give him another shot with the ones you've recommended. Thanks!
I've read all about kids committing suicide from being bullied...even ones of those kids snapping and killing others before taking themselves out. However I have never come across a story of a bully committing suicide because he was punished.
I was expecting a small French boy, with blonde hair, green outfit and a red bow-tie. Perhaps holding a butterfly net in his hand.
I know Crunchyroll and Hulu do this.

Rabbits don't have style?
I was going to cite Dujour (the White Rabbit Girl) from the Matrix, but now that I look at pictures, it DOES seem kinda dated.
Good call.

Wait, no Gamma in space? What about the gamma ray bursts? Too far away?

I wonder if he'll be accompanied by Glen Yarbrough. That horrible song from the Rankin version that now is nostalgic.

Nothing can be as light and folksy as the original Rankin/Bass movie version:

I must say, the songs definitely make me reminisce.
Dwarven treasure, it's just that the dragon was holding it for them for a little while. Honest.

I think that was Gustave Courbet who was the champion of realism, and not Rembrandt (who most definitely painted angels).
Microsoft doesn't allege in its lawsuit that the Internet hosting companies knew that machines within their facilities were being used as part of Rustock.
Well that was awfully nice of them.
$15 at a hand carwash place?
Well, you don't really NEED tinted windows ever.
I'm one of those people who perspires walking in a blizzard.
You should stop walking in blizzards then. *nods sagely* *smokebomb* *flee*

Sounds like you might have been a tad jealous.

There is no law that keeps me from giving my girlfriend a good sound spanking as long as she consents. ^_^
