Why is it difficult to believe that neutrality can be measured?
How much does a bias against P2P packets count versus a bias against (or cap on) outgoing e-mail or streaming video? Does a bias against outgoing e-mail serve a useful social purpose by limiting the damage that botnets can do?
I'm reminded of the scene in "The Aviator" where Howard Hughes has his meteorologist try to mathematically prove to the censors that the exposure of Jane Russell's breasts in "The Outlaw" was no greater than other films that the censors had approved. How much more neutral is Fox News than MSNBC?
I predict a bill will be introduced in the next session of Kentucky's General Assembly changing the definition of "gambling devices" to include domain names. Way to suggest an escape hatch for the attorney general and lawmakers...
This is BS. Anyone with a card terminal can key the number in, or the card could be cloned. I discovered that FIA categorizes keying the number into the terminal as a "card present" transaction, when I tried to dispute an unrecognized charge. They then use this as a reason that the charge was legitimate, even when the card was not in fact present.
The cost-benefit is the same way in the States. On the other hand, a traditional air-source heat pump costs about the same as a regular air conditioner, and is much cheaper than heating with gas or resistance heat. (When the outside air temperature gets too low, the less efficient backup heat--gas or electric--kicks in.) The systems that have gas auxiliary heat are commonly called dual-fuel or hybrid heat.
Your furnace blower is probably wired to a 15-amp, 120V dedicated circuit. The amperage depends upon the size of the system. When my parents' house was being constructed, the electrician "hotwired" the furnace blower to a heavy-duty extension cord and connected it to the temporary electrical service so that the house would be heated during construction. So, you could probably modify the furnace so that it plugs into a wall outlet (or generator), but this may violate some sort of code. Also, if you have a condensing furnace, you'll need power to the condensate drain pump.
Why not just print with the printer in "eco" mode or change the font color from black to dark gray? And, as another poster suggested, use a font with a smaller footprint (e.g. Courier New rather than Times New Roman).
So we had to get them bandwidth and a static IP address so they could keep an eye on things even when nobody was physically at the civic center.
They don't need a static IP. Just open up the correct ports on the civic center's router and use a service like no-ip to map a domain to a dynamic IP address.
"If true, hopefully this will open doors for people interested in inexpensive bulk purchase of bricks of specific sizes and colors."
Given the D&D Insider Magazine ad at the top of the Slashdot discussion page, I'm guessing that a girlfriend-shaped and colored block would sell very well.
Wouldn't it be so much cooler if the headline had read "Advance In Making Killer Stem Cells From Skin?"
Time for Slashdot to upgrade their servers to Windows Server 2008. It's a direct drop-in replacement for Linux.
I read about a study of countdown timers. They led to more aggressive and dangerous driving as people tried to speed up to make the light.
Big deal. Apple is already testing the iPhone 5G ne plus ultra.
Wow... Are they dimmable? How is the color temperature? And what about the aesthetics of the fixture?

We now have a metric to measure neutrality? Isn't that like having a metric to measure fairness?
"Well, objectively speaking, this deal is ten times more fair for me than it is for you."

Consumer Reports identifies a loophole in the Energy Star program.
In my case, they didn't have or provide the manual imprint, but that didn't bother FIA (now MBNA).

LIES!! You've got at least one folder that uses thumbnails view. We all do...
The one containing midget shemale donkey bestiality porn?

Safari has Private Browsing for banking, or for porn, but apparently not for both at the same time.
When he said in his letter that it's a "nutritional problem," I couldn't help but wonder whether it was the result of some nutty diet.

but it didn't play The Beach Boys. So I asked myself the question, "will it blend?"
I think Microsoft or Oracle would get along just fine without Steve Jobs.

I, for one, welcome our new liquid-cooled overlords.
Looks like they've invented... Closed cell foam!
Slashdot is not better than Digg because of the timeliness of the stories. Slashdot is better than Digg because of the user community.
You must be new here.

My PowerBook does that, too, but it's a 2005 model.
