    Yes, after using them, certain components may develop new problems. Also, you may wind up with extra passengers (and high payments for repairs and maintenance) if you're not careful.

    When you make a copy of a copy, it's sometimes not as sharp as the original. I can just see some of these Mac clones crashing with the error message "She touched my peppy, Steve!"

    But interest income is taxed at the same rate as earned income. People with a lot of money in certificates of deposit (which includes a lot of wealthy Americans, including President Bush [1]) have the interest taxed the same as ordinary income.

    [1] But not Vice-president Cheney, who did have a lot of stocks and mutual funds the last time I checked. It's pretty interesting how the two of them (Bush and Cheney) are both wealthy but have very different investment styles. Bush's investments are much more conservative.

    No, the worst case is if you live in a non-3G area, and your data rate increases by nothing, but you still have to pay for the 3G plan.

    You're right. But when you turn it off, AVG comes up with the big red exclamation mark in the system tray, alerting the user that something is horribly wrong, when in fact, a stupid and useless feature is disabled. I think when I simply manually turned off the plugin in Firefox, the AVG monitor didn't go apeshit like that.

    Seems extremely convoluted. It should be a checkbox option on the custom install. And it shouldn't be turned on by default.

    Amazon's "position" notwithstanding, they have a warehouse in Kentucky, and began collecting sales tax on Kentucky orders once that warehouse opened. While they may have complained about it, they aren't putting their money where their mouth is by refusing to collect the tax.

    Am I the only one who wonders how this guy has been able to make a living for the past two decades with his vexatious and non-meritorious lawsuits? I can only presume that most of them were dismissed or otherwise lost.

    Is he independently wealthy and just doing this for shits and grins, or does he receive some sort of assistance from crazy wacko family-oriented special interest groups?

    Yes, they should be required to write checks. This type of "settlement" is a sham.

    I remember the Iomega Zip Drive "click of death" "settlement." As a party who owned one of the affected drives (although mine hadn't failed yet), I was entitled to purchase a new zip disk from Iomega at a price of $20, at a time when independent retailers were selling the same disk for less than $20.
