I prefer the Macweek article about Job's potty mouth. It was longer and also mentioned that Job's visit to the retailer's meeting was his first visit in FIVE YEARS.

That fact makes better fodder for the daily whipping Apple gets (deservedly so) around here.

It boggles the mind to think of Apple's utter lack of manufacturing flexibility. Why shouldn't they offer a dual 733 mhz Mac for the Photoshop crowd? Even if they only sold 3,000 of them, what's the reason they can't make a profit off that? Same motherboard, same case, power supply, etc. Just a different daughter card.

Then there is the Cube. I wonder how much it costs Apple to make the Cube's case? How come they won't position it as a headless iMac (which it really is) and offer it at a price range of $799 (G3) up to $2,100 (fast G4). What if Apple blows $200 making each Cube case? What are they thinking?

All the other big-brand computer makers sell a 'slim-line' office computer of the Cube ilk. And most of them have a price-performance range similar to what I'm suggesting Apple do their Cube.

I have a completely different take on Nader. He self-destructed the goals of the Green Party to capture 5% of the electorate by campaigning in the Gore-Bush tossup states.

Nader is a vindictive bastard. He was attracted to screw up Gore's chances in the tossup states because of the 'power' it gave him. But now the Greens don't get wads of free money for the next general election.

Any idiot would have put their efforts into the most liberal states, such as New York, Mass., etc. etc. to snatch a nationwide 5% popular vote instead of the close Wisconson, Oregon, etc.

If he were his own man, he would live like HE demands, instead of being a phoney victim of the 'system'.

I personally don't give much about the person itself, (as I don't _really_ know them anyway) I vote for ideals one person represents.

He is just a sock puppet. The American Green party is not GREEN. It is a collection of saggy-bottomed left-behinds from the New Left (1960's) but which is now the Old Left. They have no environmental policy beyond 'taxing polluters' or 'stopping suburban sprawl'. They refuse to get specific, they don't have the creativity to address overpopulation, the real environmental problem.

Their stated platform is as nebulous as it is vacuous. They are skating along on the good reputation of the Euro Greens.
