I work for a rather large Automotive Supplier, and a guy in our racing division got this thing last week. I ended up pulling his hard drive and connecting it as a secondary on my laptop... I found that I had to change folder options to show hidden files, from there I was able to copy all of his files. Once copied to my hard drive, I had to 'un-hide' everything. I formatted his old drive, reimaged, copied everything back over and was good to.
Problem here, its almost impossible to fix this remotely, so I had to have the end user over night his laptop from NC to MI, and then vice versa. 4 day process. Fun time. F*** YOU to whoever wrote this thing.
With stories like this, I always like to refer to the book of Star Trek Voyager for wisdom.
Ensin Kim: "Why does everyone say 'relax' when they're about to do something terrible?"
For some reason, here I was thinking we made it out of black and white to color a few decades ago. If we as the human race keep taking steps backwards, then we will never have a working warp drive by in Star Trek. Ehhh, I guess we are due for another world war anyway.
Obviously B'Elanna Torres was not a part of the design team, if she were this thing would be loaded with gel packs and Suprise Maquis Attack mechanisms... where was this teams head at?
Yes I know this..... but the BBC (if you watch BBC America) is running Heroes of Parliment, claiming Picard as their own.... hence why they are showing TNG movies on Repeat. Those wacky Brits
Havent the Brits learned anything from the adventures of their very own Captain Picard???? Captain Picard always awknowledged and lived by the fact that as a leader of a large community, that he was bound by discretion in his personal life. Obviously, this is just a marketing strategy by the Parliment to help improve the public image of the dusty cum hole known as the Queen. Wont they ever brush their teeth and learn?
Yes the HSPA and WiMax networks allow for faster data rates, but the speed as always is dependant upon the internet connection that is provided to the core towers and how many end users fall beneath the umbrella of it. 4G, alongside 3G, is just a marketing gimick. Any normal end user just wants their shit to work, and the faster the better, in most cases. The American public, generally does fall for this shit, and its sad, but true tech heads like the ones found on slashdot generally know better. Kudos Man
It's all in dental hygene.... I know we have all seen the big book of British smiles at sometime in our lives. Those wacky Brits and their pointy teeth... plus don't they brush like once a week. Either way, some of them may look good naked but as long as they dont smile.
If Star Trek Voyager has taught us anything, when you need to go deep into the ocean, just send the bad boy Tom Paris with trusty sidkick Ensin Kim in the Delta Flier. Thats more than enough to get hte job done. The only downside is that Lt Paris may make everyone listen to some drawn out letter hes writing to his father.... and quite frankly, its too dramatic for my tastes.
I love how Apple has become the new evil empire of corporations.... Microsoft used to be number one.... however, when a product becomes so popular and let just face it, everyone wants one, the greedy people behind the product will try to squeeze every penny they can out of it. At the same time, its the greedy people like the ones at Apple who have really added to economy problems. Whats the worth of a dollar if only a small handful of people are collecting the larger chunks of it?
Am I the only one in thinking that the ONLY logicial solution to helping the blind is for scientists to develope a Visor like Geordi Laforge had in ST:TNG... I mean seriously, Star Trek has called out almost every other obvious advancement, why not this one?
It's not a real printer.... its a software emulation of a printer that will put whatever document you want into PDF format just by sending documents from any publication program to it as if it were a printer.
yeah you should consider Adobe Pagemaker, great document creation program.... it's a widely used program int he publication world, I myself learned how to use it in High School while in year, easy program and very intuitive.
You didn't mention that you were unhappy with Publicon aside from the pdf creation portion, but there are useful tools out there such as CutePDF writer which acts like a printer option on your unit and creates a pdf file when you print to it. There are ways to get around your pet peaves, you just need to learn how to choose your battles.
This is almost like the time the High Council at the Klingon Empire forced Worf into secrecy about his fathers trechery, but at the end of the day, the information was still made available. It is not logical to assume that even with such firewalls in place to sensor content that the unsensored content will become unavilable. This debate is similar to the fight about what children watch when in front of the television, and honestly, a more in home solution is ultimately the winning choice....
If they're really going to charge 499 for this, the damn thing better be able to handle of the information Commander Data processes through his internal systems... his Neuro pathways may not entirely benifit from this
This reminds of when LT Regenald Barkly started teaching at Star Fleet academy.... his stutter left many questions unanswered... but the bright side of this is that he was able to help the Voyager crew make proper communications with the Alpha quadrant.... ok this isnt really a joke, its fact.
this is similar to star fleets preference to warp drive over a quantom slip stream system for travel... they have the means but no one knows why they dont just get it together and party
Well the corporate purchasers are actually Ferrangi specialists. Don't forget that. The Vulcans are kept captive in the developement department... lord only knows why they're being held for knowledge, I mean, they're not even being listened to... which brings us back to the Ferrangi. Its a horrible cycle but its really Microsofts problem.
I was under the impression that the Klingons took out the Ferrangi culprits who originally caused this... should the rest of the empire be punished for their greed?

I think they need to start using biogel packs, like the ones used on USS Voyager... that way Janeway and B'lanna can troubleshoot more decisively.
Dude... You need to sign in to the playstation network to be able to use Netflix.... just an FYI

Chestnuts roasting on a Toshiba Laptop..... those things even come with burn warning stickers underneath!

You deal with a sensative Data by turning his emotion chip off... DUH!
