Why would MS want to get Macromedia software removed? I can't think of a single good reason for them to do that - the companies' respective product lines overlapped very little, if at all. The only product I can think of off the top of my head is Dreamweaver/ColdFusion competing with FrontPage/FrontPage Extensions. WordPerfect/Corel, maybe, Lotus, definitely, but Macromedia? No.
I'm with one of the sibling commenters. I call BS.
I was thinking the same thing. If this was Microsoft, Apple or even Google claiming a "new standard" based on a feature only they've adopted (and even created) they would quite rightly get chewed out. The only way something anyone does alone (especially if they're still the minority in terms of market share) could be considered a "standard" is if your attitude to language is exceptionally flexible.
She lied in court and destroyed evidence, plus she was quite simply undeniably guilty of what she was accused of. That tends to piss juries off, as far as I can tell.
I would always, ALWAYS strongly recommend that people read the terms and conditions of what they sign up for, especially when it's things like bank accounts or credit cards where they could lead to immense hardship.
One of my online banking websites' security questions let me specify the question and answer. It's currently "Who is the second person you slept with?"
If anyone can guess that, aside from her obviously, they win a prize.
(FWIW, they also ask you for random characters from a password, so it's not just a case of working out who I used to fuck.)
you buy Gillette Fusion refills there, you're likely to get something that looks nearly identical but will tear off half your face when you try to use them.
From these events, it is obvious that the new administration either does not know about or does not care about the passion this community has for free ideals.
A very tiny community, compared to the overwhelming majority who a) don't give a toss about "free ideals" and b) have seen this story for the bullshit it is, in that only one website requires Silverlight to watch the inauguration, whereas YouTube and many others will be showing it in Flash video.
Yup. I did it many a time with Windows 2000. Wasn't really worth the effort, since it broke so much (as IE is basically just a shell around Microsoft's HTML renderer library). Haven't been an IE man for years - usually I just found it sufficient to delete the icon and pretend it doesn't exist.
I AM, for want of a better word, a "MacHead". I use Macs and OS X exclusively. And yet I don't want to sleeo with someone who's so up herself and materialistic that someone's choice in OS is a factor in wanting to fuck them. That's my point.
girls who claim they'll never sleep with Windows users
Good for them. They're idiots. I wouldn't want to sleep with someone who judges people on their OS choice (of all things) rather than things that actually matter, like personality or how well the two of you connect. Them not wanting to sleep with users isn't a damning indictment of Windows, it's a damning indictment of themselves.
Seriously, people like that need to be punched to death.
So, your point in favour of KDE4 is that it can't hide the panel? Something Windows, OSX and indeed pretty much every Linux/BSD desktop environment do with ease?
It's probably just anecdotal, but I find the fonts on my Mac OS X install seem noticeably bigger than those on my Boot Camped XP install, and everything on OS X seems a bit bigger in general (the dock, for instance, compared to Windows' little task bar icon bar thing). I can see that being beneficial.
At least there's no option to vote for the Lemon Party.
clinton/loral
I read that as "clitoral".
Seems apt.
Because "Uncomfortable truth" isn't a modding option.

I went into preferences and disabled the new style comments. Quicker to load, less painful on the eyes and none of those stupid boxes.
For a site that bitches about web standards, /. really need to get their house in order.

OK, but now they don't, rendering your point (in relation to our current situation) somewhat moot.
Wow, your anecdotal evidence totally beat up his anecdotal evidence.

Like on eBay? "A++++ EXCELLENT HOOKER WOULD FUCK AGAIN"

I'd say that IS identical.
I spend every Friday night like that
I doubt it, childish freetard quasi-satire doesn't tend to score many points when sent to Microsoft as a bug report.

I have this overwhelming urge to punch a 14 year old girl in the face.

Right.
As a proportion of software installs, how does that compare to the number of infections from non-pirated software that included a trojan?
Unless you're someone who counts DRM as a "trojan", I'd imagine the number of legit software purchases filled with trojans is quite, quite low.
(This, obviously, excluding things like Bonzi Buddy. That's hardly "legit" in any sense of the word.)

Webmasters have no obligations to cater to a particular browser.
If this was said about Firefox, I'd be able to hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth from a million miles away. Won't fly.
I wouldn't worry, they're only looking for an excuse.
