    Most of those who don't give a rats ass about the changes don't participate in slashdot discussions. They just pretend that they understand nerds and tech and whatnot. Also I guess I should point out that I am not "hiding" behind an anonymous posting even though I have the best posts are usually from those wishing to hide their identity.

    Seriously, why does Dice have to be the death of Slashdot? Can't the powers that be find a way to monitize an assest without comprimising that which makes this site worth visiting? I blame all those who don't browse the site at -1.

    ...will it take for slashdot to abandon this course? I'm only asking because I love this site and want to continue to to support it as long as I am able. Tell us please, this really is a case of Dice asserting it's supremecy isn't it? I can't fathom why the usual slashdot admins would subject their usership to these shenagagins.

    ...what is good for you! No matter how much we hate it, slashdot beta is coming like a steam locomotive and there ain't no way, other than no slashdot for you, that you will be able to avoid it! You don't like it, I don't like it, hardly anyway likes it, but be prepared to bend over and take it like a man because slashdot beta has a hard on for you!

    If learning to code accomplishes that goal then yes, everyone should learn how to code. On the other hand, those who can survive without coding should not be forced to learn to code.

    When you first start Openbox there is nothing on your desk, and it takes a bit of work for anything to be put on it. Stuff on you desk means there is stuff you need to be doing. When GUIs that try to guess what work you should be doing are a no go in my book.

    I'm not so sure. I order twice a month on average and use the hell out of prime videos. Anyway, when I first heard this on NPR I thought to myself that I'd be okay with $99 a year, but at $119 it would be time to think of switching to Netflix or Hulu and stick to shopping locally.

    There is a "certain religion" that continues to forbid contraception. To them conception is the "supreme being's choice", not something to be decided by mortals. Still, if you are willing to trash the idea of freedom of religion I'll back you 100%! There has exist point where sense trumps nonsense.

    When 1 in 7 is using food stamps, there's a problem. Aren't we supposed to be in the middle of an economic recovery, with unemployment at 6.7% and falling? Why is food stamp use growing at and unprecedented rates?

    Because employers today factor in government assistance when calculating their compensation programs? I really don't know, but I do something is seriously wrong when people who are willing to work can not make a living wage.

    Yep they got you too! Either you believe the government dictates to you to protect others particular beliefs or the government dictates to others to enforce your particular beliefs. It seems no one follows the government exists to protect "life, liberty, and happiness" ideal that this nation was founded on.

    You know, if only we had more than tweedle dee and tweedle dum to vote for! But the powers that be have done such a fine job of delineating the beliefs that we hold most dear into column A or column B that we will vote for whoever they serve up that most closely aligns to our most fundamental beliefs. Yes, most of us know the fundemental divide for libertarians is whether life comes before liberty. The authoriatarians have learned to use our differences to dictate their views on all of us!

    Eventually they will become like the rest of us and wait until they can view it at home. Movies are so much better when you are in total control of the volume and pause buttons. And really, would you enjoy interrupting the flick everytime someone got a phone call?

    Just curious, when you go shopping for a car which vehicles do you look at first? The ones you find immediately attractive or the ones with superficial blemishes? Okay, probably a stupid analogy. Still, I would think most people would buy the car that works as they think it should over the one that doesn't.

    It is only the cellular companies pricing models that are keeping this segment from exploding. And yes AT&T, I'm pointing the finger at you! You are still so stuck in a pricing model that wants to profit for each minute people spend communicating with each other. Perhaps another break up is needed?
