Now, thousands of years later, it's tradition, a link to the history of my people. Tradition is important. So yes, we had our son circumcised. Is it child abuse? He cried, fell asleep, and then woke up happy. Now he definitely likes his penis, a lot.

Are earrings child abuse? How about the lip and ear stretching and other body modifications done in various cultures? Traditional Mori tattooing of kids? Context is everything. These are loving acts.

In contrast, female circumcision, done to reduce female sexuality, is child abuse because of its context.

The small theoretical speed advantages get lost in the noise of compiler quality, product cycles, bus speed, programmer skill, etc. Underneath, the execution units are similar, and any brilliant breakthrough in EPIC compiler tech will just be copied into the x86 instruction decoder of x86 chips.

So basically, x86 is here to stay for a LOOOOOOOONG time.

Yes, they use other companies' chips because they don't have a fab. Most companies don't have a fab. They buy from whomever is cheapest, manufacture it, and ship it. Sorry they had a bad batch and had poor customer service, but that's par for the course nowadays. Did you stop buying WD and Seagate drives because they had bad batches? They sure as hell did, as did every other manufacturer.

So I look at this post and see it as a hit piece. Why is slashdot even posting it?
