    Well they could do it as DVD sets for each season like they do for many of the TV shows that make it to DVD. I have the Star Trek TNG on DVD's and it came in 7 boxes of 7 DVD's each. So why not one set for each year that it was out. and a set for each doctor that they find the Lost shows from.

    for free, one word, cwywin. It even has emacs (let the holy wars begin), cvs and gcc, it is a attempted to have a full unix envioment in windows.

    is a return to the way legos were sold in the 80's, not in sets, yes there were those, but you could also just get a generic set. I have not see a generic set in the stores around here, they all are some set based on some movie game or some thing, but no generic set.

    This is good news for the people that provide support for friends and familys that have not gone to XP, don't have to worry about new holes that will not be patched I still think some one that does not know computers should really go MAC OS X.

    It seams to me that if they make them selfs to look like the cops, that would break a law about impersonating a police, they even said they are "They said they were police from the recording industry." They have no power to do this, this is just some FUD tactics on their part, I am not saying that it is ok to sell bootlegs. Once you start to make money from bootlegs (and from the article it does not seam that the guy was selling bootlegs to his knowledge, they might have been with that upfront cost but that is another story) then you have crossed from fair use to copyright infringement, but still 2 wrongs do not make a right, and the RIAA is really opening them selfs up to major legal problems, but being that they have such a strong lobby group they might not get into trouble.

    I seams that Flordia can not learn how to vote, the computers were brought because the hanging chade now they can not figure out how to press a simple "VOTE" button. (oh ya Rush talked about this yesterday, so it is old news to me)

    It seams to me that the dems are setting up a way they can claim, if they lose, that the election was "stolen" again, they are still claiming that, even though all the other indipendint investigations prove that Bush did win in Flordia.

    I already do this with my laptop and cellphone all the time, I have not had a problem with it. Yes there are some internet radio stations out there that are to high of a bit rate, but the ones I listen to are not, and they come in fine. and as for cost, on my provider I pay $20 a month for unlimited internet. The only problem I have (and this is to be expected) is that I can not get a phone call when I am connected to the internet.

    why not use something like Graffiti? I use Graffiti on my palm and it is a good way to put info into a handheld device.

    For most of my life I never though I would use a mac, but with the comming of OS X, I learned that was not true, I now have (and love) my G4 iBook, and the integration with the iPod and my cell phone is well words just can not state it.

    I don't think the USB drives will take off like he is thinking, I think that maybe that the SD cards will become the portable media for the new year and years to come, I truly belive that they cards are the floppy drive replacements of the future. With every one having a PDA, and both palm and MS both supporting the SD card. There is the key (as much as this is not liked here a /.) the backing of MS will push the SD cards into the like light. I have a card reader, and an SD card and some of the people I have to take larger files to have eather general card readders of a SD only card reader. And it sits in the palm when I am not using it.

    I would say a Charity would be happy to take them, I know at my church we still have alot of 486s and P90s (I am right now building a new back up server out of an old P133, using linux of cource) and we would be happy to take anything.

    I doubt that they are lossing money only over the lawsuit. Also the info for erron could be derived by other methodes, it would be considered comman knolage for all unix programmers, so if they had to implement a compatablity layer, they could do it from memory.

    also with Novel's Copyright on it, it seams to me that Novel's came first, so SCO could be a nice target if (big IF) they win this case, it has seamed to me that Novel does not want to see this case go though.

    SCO is a dead company that just wants to be bought out, and they did not get IBM to buy them out liked they hoped.
