    Are you sure about that? I saw the AS/400 where I worked fall flat on its face when there were power glitches. What model of AS/400 were you refering to? The one I speak of was a 620 with an 820 upgrade.

    Sure - but you need a guru to rebuild kernels.

    What? Try 'make menuconfig' (or xconfig for pointy-clicky people) then it tells you what to do next (make clean ; make dep ; make bzImage). After that just copy it into /boot and check your lilo config points to it, run 'lilo' to redo the bootloader and you're all set. I use lilo so I dunno about GRUB, which is apparently even easier.

    It's really not difficult to do.

    Of course dpkg --get-selections is asking too much ;)

    Putting your config files (i.e. /etc/) into a CVS would be a good idea too, then you can just do a 'cvs up' to retrieve the changed files...

    Maybe it needs to be released under an alternative license, say the MSFO license that states it is illegal to reuse said source code in any company product if that company name starts with the letter 'M' and ends in 'icrosoft'.

    Surely the reader can determine what the letters 'FO' stand for in the license acronym...

    Not very helpful if people cannot afford to buy a new swanky hydrogen car if all their money is going in to gasoline :>

    And higher gas prices still does not put hydrogen 'filling stations' where they're needed, i.e. everywhere a regular gas station is.

    Your use of some sort of (Realtime Blackhole Lists) RBLs is required then..

    We suffered a lot from spam where I work, but since I have installed QMail and rblsmtpd, plus set up local blacklists and whitelists (banning large chunks of the korean network space seems to work wonders) our levels of spam have dropped dramatically. And this is even with morons who still give out their company email address on every single website they can find.
