This is neither scientific nor logical. Evolution of flight is presumed to transpire from not-flight capable creatures.
1.Equiping a test subject with wings short-circuits the most intreguing part of the experiment.
2.Equipping a winged test subject with a moter too heavy to maintain loft is stupidity at work.
3.Thrust is not lift. Flight requires both, but this was thrust. The robot recreated 19th and 20th century flying machines. They didn't work either.
4.Horizontal stabilizers (vertical rods) are not considered to have been available during the evolution of flight.
The test is intriguing, for sure. But to bill this as AI learned flight is either poor press coverage, or a scientist seeking funding through an uninformed press.
I went with a pre-owned stone and had it set in a new ring. No blood money, no ethical issues. But beware, older stones may have a cut that's a bit too steep; and they need to be polished/cleaned.
A bit ahead of their time, no? Surely this had more to do with forced physical access than network cracking. Wasn't it 1969 when the first two computers were networked?
I'm the IT department here at this company. I researched this through and through. I went with Wyse 3360se's and *cough* Terminal Server on Win2k. It's cheaper than PC's. There is only one computer to maintain. The work without crashes, slowdowns, or sysadmin involvment.
We will be implementing Citrix here in a week. I've gotten to know it too, and for a lab, I'd use TermServ. Get to know the RDP protocol because ICA runs on top of it. This follows the first rule of software use... Know thy code foundation. Citrix has it's benefits, but they are most felt when running applications remotely from a PC.
There seems to be some confusion on when copywrite and license violation should be enforced. The greatest crime agains humanity is transgressing GPL. On the other hand, defending ones ability to breach copywrite and licensing is a noble task.
I submit that these are contrarian concepts and that greater thought should be applied. For what is a law without proper enforcement?

I thought the idea of a monopoly abuse case was to right wrongs and administer punitive damages. This money should be going to the individuals who spend the extra dollars to Microsoft. This means that big business should get paid, not the poor.
Seems to me that if US citizens were not stripped of their second ammendment rights when they step into an airport that this couldn't have happened.
Can you imagin if just 1/10th the passengers had handguns on them at the time of a hijacking? How many slugs would the hijacker have in him by the time he got one round off? Would hijackers even dare target aircraft?

In general, I like the idea. I'd have to see it spelled out in specifics before I wave my green flag though. Anyone in sales will tell you that a top factor is the relationship with the customer. The current system does not permit one. Your ideas, good or bad, will be a step towards that.
It's good to see someone engaging thier brain about this!
Did anyone bother to mention how much food and other necessities come from the US? Sure we product the most pollutants, but we also produce most of the worlds consumable necessities.
Assume it's not junk science for a moment. Is the production/pollution ratio better or worse than other nations?
Ummm... I'm in Iowa and I wouldn't even know if all of CA went dark if it weren't for national news on the radio. There's too much pride and self centeredness in that statement. It should read something like 'we screwed up and are changing our policies, would you, other state, please help for 6 months?'
So what you're saying is that you can create perfect operating systems by copying other's ideas, and improve existing operating systems by copying other's ideas.
And what's up with Netscape? When will this work like The Open Source Community says it does?
So, the geekiest linux site has been hacked by geekier people. What does this mean? CmdrTaco and the rest have not secured their servers? Or does this mean Linux has a security hole and needs a service pack a la NT 4.0 SPx?
Is this the first one of these pseudo-computer devices with an optional 10/100 ethernet adapter? I sure do hope this is a trend. I'd like to see ethernet available on all of these devices.
Indeed, what about the children? What *is* the moral to this story? The moral is that those who create the content are responsible for thier actions. What your suggesting is that your daughter is responsible for the actions of others. As for me, I prefer to be held responsible for my actions only.

5 years and no complaints.
No way for me to tell, but if your pork product has been irradiated there's no need to worry about Trichinosis.
Can anyone in the packing industry comment on whether or not all pork produced in the US is irradiated?
From Central Iowa

So, which religeon is established as a state religeon with this wording?
If you'll use this anywhere but the garage, make it quiet. You won't regret it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...

We'll all be using .NET, right Bill?
Imagine no MP3, but WMP.
Imagine MSPr0n! (eewwwww)
Umm... don't you mean your running dual Alphas? I don't think you can plop a slot A Athlon into a board built for Alphas.

Ummm... What? Not only does that not make any sence, it doesn't make any sense!
This line of logic is dizzying. I think I'll find a more stable thread, one that doesn't move no matter what the frame of reference.
Not really, given the legal and political atmosphere... Mama said there'd be days like this.
It seems to me that reader comments are a little out of bounds. What's next, unlicensed thought?
