    then it will never commercialy replace photoshop, correldraw ...
    i know pantone color is proprietary but there could be a commercial pluging for it ..

    I do not believe that photons (i.e. light) can travel at any speed other than C...

    You see light travel at speeds slower than C every day, light slows down in water, even in our athmosfere light doesnt travel at C but a tiny bit slower

    i ran staroffice for a while and foud it verry nice
    but the 2 things that i dindt like was the windowmanager like interface and it was so slow
    so i switched back to apllix witch doesnt have all the functionality but is loads faster
    (and its not free), so i hope they made it faster

    i need it to be small on the screen, it needs to be able to display all file formats and show file info as detailed as i want it at the moment i request it
    and i found it, its caled windowmaker, *term, (yes i like nice pictures) and a few line's in /etc/profiles
    99% of the file managers outhere have a way to big(visualy) GUI
    and 99% of the things ppl do with them i do faster in a term anyway

    I might be paranoid but I just live in fear for the day the first 'window manager specific' apps hit the net and this kind of application brings this day closer and closer

    they both shop with ReiserFS.I have been running
    ReiserFS on 3 boxes and no problem what so ever.

    I work at a company and i am in charge of 4 linux boxes (gateways and webservers)
    and the only mailing list i need to check is the SuSE Security Announcements list,
    if the bug is relevant to one of my systems download an RPM install it on the boxes i am done and done.
    takes me about 10 mins to upgrade 4 boxes and i dont even leave my desktop. I takes me longer to download SP6.
    So you i can safely say unless your support team are a bunch of cleuless monkeys you dont Need a massive support team.

    dont all viruses pass them selves autmaticly around ?
    Be it via mail or by infecting files to get on a floppy and so to another computer.
    So the blame would be fully on the first person who releases the virus.

    ofcourse with the recent linking to ilegal stuff is ilegal law suits one never knows

    Did anyone ever complained about that? Donald Becker/nasa have 2 lines in one driver
    If sameone wants to spend time and/or money on open source, let them at least get the credit
    they helped get as a jounaling file system, with makes linux far more intresting for mision critical use than before ... so let the ppl hvr there momment in the spot light.
    And if you _realy_ cant stand it (as said before) its open source take it out or dont use it

    all i have to say is if you are develpoing linux software, at least make sure its linux native, and doenst need some emulator to run !
    This kind of stuff is negative for the linux on desktop market.

    AFAIK the K6-3 had L2 on board at cpu speed
    and is using the mainboard cache as L3

    Having some one copying the style of your gui for an other os
    should be considerd a compliment, it means a job well done.
    Second of all having your gui look and feel on an other os is a sort of free publicity.
    And I am realy disipointed in Mac for playing the big bully game.
