So for anyone who wants to see Activision's pitch for this there's the video below. Note previous ones have been taken down so click and watch the train wreck sooner than later. Kotick and the Derp Cabal, making you pay for what you got for free since Battlefield 2.

When they pulled it from Mass Effect they said they'd do the same with Spore, we're still left with the crappy ass token activation scheme along with authenticating when you first start it and on new patches. I really hate token activation, but they at least pulled the phone home every ten or so days crap.
Living in Florida I test the black car with black leather seats on a daily basis. Word to the wise, the seats less of a danger then the steering wheel that will try to melt flesh along with the exposed metal on the seat belt.
Sadly that all sounds about right though I still would like to see the logs, assuming they exist. Based on what I've seen with my younger sister this is rather normal behavior when someone rocks the social standing boat.
The major problem I'm seeing, in regards to understanding this for most, is the media's sucks at reporting the facts so assuming what your saying is what went down it's not what's being reported. At best we get two paragraphs talking about how her friends mother posed as a boy and then dumped her than plenty about Congress Critter X pandering about it, nothing about her advocating suicide to the girl. Then there are those of us who don't have the time to dig into the story or don't know where to look so at best we get a metric crapton of people blaming the parents for not watching her activities or people hollering about this being a free speech issue when it might not be the real issue.
Than again we could always just blame the schools for their new everyone's a special flower curriculum instead of anything useful. Thus solving the problem once and for all.
Really? In Hillsborough county I don't remember ever hearing evolution mentioned in class even though every science lab or class had one of those wonderful fish to human graphs somewhere. Ended up hearing the theory in full from either reading or Discovery channel. They'd at best touch on parts of it, but I honestly don't remember hearing the word evolution used at all in class till their special chem/bio class they roped me into some where in 10th. Then again I was out in '99 so I was dealing with all their proof of concept classes crap.
Nevermind how they fail to perform even basic checks for some of the earlier 'tests' they do. A prime example is during the tornado proofing ep where the first test home wasn't bolted to the ground, while the second test was along with reinforcements before pitching crap at it. Granted carbon fibering a trailer was rather neat to watch.
Dunno if it's sad or not but it's either Pole Position or Combat, not sure which though since I quickly hit the can't remember anything past that point save for quick flashes of images.
Without having the rules in front of me, or having run SR 3rd in a year I can tell you be glad they max out at 4 passes. The old system could theoretically have someone acting 7+ times each round. The reason it could be so high was because you'd have your reaction stat, which could hit 10 fairly easily, added to a number of d6 rolls based on your cyberware or magics along with other modifiers from more cyberware and magics. Never mind the merits that allow you to reroll six's on initiative Now this may not sound bad till you realize every time you break ten points on initiative you would get an action. So 10 is only one, while a 22 would get you two. Last game I ran, 40-50 was the typical area for all the combat guys with one breaking 70 on really good rolls. Than again the same guy who managed that also talks with others about getting his halfling caviler to break 200+ points of damage on a charge from the back of his war dog with a lance in D&D.
Haven't read through the SR 4th rules much myself, but what your describing sounds exactly like what White Wolf's done with the new World of Darkness stuff. Beyond that I know in the new SR version they combined rigging and netrunning for the most part. Which depending on your opinion on man machine interfaces for vehicles and drones makes perfect sense. Also the net became a wireless system. On the other hand the module they produced to make the changeover from 3rd to 4th involved so many impossibilities happening on the same day to make it beyond annoying. AI hacking the new super powered stock exchange while another group tries to detonate magic'd nukes as mass emp bombs in nearly every major city? Lets not even get into them killing all the major npcs for the most part much like the newer edition of Cyberpunk 2020 did.
Switching gears though, after playing Saga Edition Star Wars I was hopeful about 4th ed D&D, then the local game store got the new preview book containing the race info. Any hope I had of it not sucking went down the tubes faster then little Anny in a pod racer.
Depends on if they go a route similar to EA's Battletech 3025 game. Granted EA doesn't have the best rep, Cthulhu knows I hate them, but that little beta was awesome. A similar concept with larger forces might be worth it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiplayer_BattleTech_3025
As for Shadowrun the MMO it'll depend on which edition they base it off of. Can't stand the newer stuff due to the plotlines and such.
The more interesting bit to me is the project X they mention is apparently another X-com remake. So let me be the first to say, please Cthulhu don't let them fubar it!
Depends on a number of things really. If you live with others or your rigs in a high traffic area I'd suggest a headset with mic. Also if you don't want to run any risk of feedback or bleed over on the mic I'd suggest the headset again.
On the other hand though, if you've spent any real amount on a sound card and speakers and want to use them I'd say just get mic. Alot of folks bitch about the feedback and bleed through you get on those, but that's because the people they've run into are idiots. Properly positioned you don't produce any feedback nor do you get any bleed through. Volume plays a part in this as well so don't expect to have the sound jacked up. Also push to talk is your friend with this setup, actually push to talk should be the rule not the exception, headset or not.
Personally I run a mic since I spent a fair amount on a sound card and speakers for my rig. I also get some nasty headaches so putting my head in the vice like grip of a headset is right out. Your mileage may very.
Depends on a number of things case in point, I use a mic and run 5.1 speakers on my rig. My brother and alot of his friends though don't have speakers and instead use USB headsets for both communication and sound. Running a mic means you may pickup noise from your speakers or even feedback. Running a headset and a lack of speakers makes this a non problem.
It's why I tend to grab all hardware at Compusa. As every time I've had an issue their extra warranty has resulted in a shiney new piece of gear replacement immediatly. It's a bit further then BB, but the more horror stories I hear about BB the less I go there.
"PlayStation 2 is a perfect example of our ten year product lifecycle promise and is a testament to the design and technology that continues to be at the core of the product. While today's anniversary celebrates PlayStation 2' past, we're very excited for its future." So given previous console hardware trends and how hard their pushing the PS3, does anyone else find this odd? It seems normal for the previous gen console to vanish after the new one's been out for a year or year and a half, just go looking for Xbox titles these days. Combine it with the insanity that's been the PS3 launch over the last year and it seems really odd to keep both up, especially when they've just gutted the backwards compatibility from the lower end PS3 models. It's almost like their not sure what they want to do at this point since most companies intentionally discontinue the older system to force an upgrade.
The Bioware part is more than likely refrencing EA's less than great relationship with MS. Bioware's done alot of exlusive RPG's for the xbox and now with EA pulling the strings it may become a major issue. As for Bizarre, PGR4 is their last game of the series since MS owns the rights.
But wasn't Quake 4 horribly by all accounts when compared to the others? I've yet to hear someone say it was worth the cash. Hell I'm still worried GH3 will be horrible as well.
Agree with you on all of that, and while alot of people will question the intelligence of the whole thing the one line that worries me more then anything else is this, "Thankfully because she followed our instructions, she ended up in our cell instead of a morgue." This whole shoot first and not even ask questions later bit is concerning. Besides I'm starting to think Boston rivals Florida on the sheer idiocy factor now.
Depending on how this goes I almost see a bunch of MIT folks heading up to Logan wearing breadboards to make a point.

You forgot Disgaea 3 for the PS3.

I take it you haven't heard that THQ's working on the 40k MMO than?
Living in Florida I test the black car with black leather seats on a daily basis. Word to the wise, the seats less of a danger then the steering wheel that will try to melt flesh along with the exposed metal on the seat belt.
Hmph, well see what the Ordo Xenos and the Adeptus Astartes has to say about this 'Greater good'.
Sadly that all sounds about right though I still would like to see the logs, assuming they exist. Based on what I've seen with my younger sister this is rather normal behavior when someone rocks the social standing boat.

I'd assume that's worldwide production and the sales figure is US.

Okami, or Odin Sphere anyone?

Perhaps if they removed all those ninja and samurai along with those ninja moves like sneaking or stealth killing they'd be a bit more lenient.
Considering how many people I know who buy games entirely for the multi I'll have to give a look at the campaign later on then.
But wasn't Quake 4 horribly by all accounts when compared to the others? I've yet to hear someone say it was worth the cash. Hell I'm still worried GH3 will be horrible as well.
