Not everyone lives in an area with broadband. Until they do, Gamefly has a huge built-in audience. It's rather comical to see people from urban areas comment on such things as if the rest of the world lived just like them.
There's nothing wrong with the imperial system as long as you passed 8th grade math an understand fractions. If you're into particle physics... yea, metrics the way to go because that's what all the papers are written in. If you're anywhere in-between, you'll do fine with whichever systems handy.
What's your point? Do you think that the planet freezing solid for 10 years then coming to a point where there's a year long summer would mean life were impossible? I'd argue that it would simply lead to a very interesting sort of life. If it has a large moon to keep the core molten life could stay bellow the permafrost until the spring. It's be a very interesting planet indeed.
yes, but it's to the point now that when you do a search, the first 10 pages of results are nothing but these sorts of BS sites. And the sites are getting better and better at mirroring themselves under multiple names. I applaud googles efforts.
My 3rd old commits more violence in the 1hr after he wakes up and the 1hr before bed to his own family than you'll ever find in a game like "Call of Duty." The idea that you're going to protect a child from something that they are literally doing from birth is asinine. How would the ESRB rate the average schoolyard playground?
Woh woh... I don't think he's installing it inside their network. It sounds like it's outside their network and he wants to give people inside the network access. I think the real question here is, which side of the firewall is this box on?
The problem is that most oversights in security will be continue to be missed when the site is reviewed. The same people who didn't think using postit notes on monitors to keep track of passwords wouldn't think that was a problem even after 90% of their workforce are carrying in cellphones with cameras built in every day.
They are more robust than the people maintaining them. Most systems I've worked on have been years behind in updates and how do they maintain their logins? Does the entire site use the same login like I saw at one place? Did his boss keep his login and pass on a sticky note on his desk?
You're retarded if you can't cap it out. I hit about 150gig a month with my 3MB/s connection. If you want to cap out that connected get go download the top 5 torrents on the pirate bay and let it sit for about a day. You'll be way over your limit guaranteed. If you want to make it all legal, get the top 5 linux distros. You'll still cap it out.
Because the police tape has a purpose that doesn't involve threatening and intimidating the public. To prevent people from contaminating a crime scene. In reality, they rarely even use the tape.
Why was it necessary for them to replace the offending website with their own message? This is no different than if the government charged you with a crime, confiscated your house and then painted on the outside of your door "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO ENEMIES OF THE STATE"
If you don't think it's a threat, read it for yourself: http://absolutepoker.com/ That right there is a message from your federal government, to all of us.
Valve seems to be the only Game producer that "gets it" and treats their customers as something other than livestock to be harvested in the most efficient way possible. Do you think other developers wonder why 80% of all PC Game sales go through Steam now despite Valve being so un-hostile to their customers?
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
Explain to me how a Government body can seize your private property when you have not even been charged with a crime yet, much less convicted. In the case of these businesses, the seizure is likely costing them millions of dollars in revenue. Their guilt is obvious but if the government can shut down your entire business by simply filing an indictment, which is not even an accusation until a grand jury reviews it, that is without a doubt censorship.
What if the the justice department files an indictment against a major candidate for president for election fraud and shuts down his website in the middle of an election? What they can do to the unsavory, they can do to us all.
So you want free content provided by your customers... but that lead to low quality content. So you wanted free moderation provided by your customers... but that lead to poor moderation. So you want free code and methodology to improve your moderation provided by your customers... at some point the obvious has to just smack you upside the head.
Ok guy who came up with one good idea 40 years ago and hasn't done anything new since... Thanks for your contribution. But I think you might be a bit out of the loop in regards to what's going on.
And how long will it take every website on the net to require the highest level of security to allow you access? 6 months? a year? Are you really so naive to think that and ID that is this easy to obtain, with a value that's almost incalculable when it comes to tracking isn't going to become a universal requirement as soon as it's available?
I usually spend more time on the ground when I fly, than I do in the air. The airlines have managed to lose my luggage on all 3 of the last flights I took. So yea, I agree completely.

Because "Science Documentaries" are written by "Scientists" right? LOL

Wow, 6 documents from 100 years ago. We'll find out about Kennedy any day now!
Funny that M$FT and Appple are sueing everyone and Googles got the most smiley faces.
Most secure? My ass...
The microwave
A Fire

This is just an expensive toy

That didn't destroy much. Someone with the correct skills and hardware could easily read that disk. Throw the damned thing in a smelter...
lol, thats what they normally use on dead livestock

Nailed it. Allow human rights to start creeping in and it'd be interesting to see just how cheap that labor remained.

How does it help them enforce the law? A blank page would have been just as affective.
