Microsoft insists that Web integration is so tightly integrated into Windows 98 that there is no way to remove it. Well, look what I found: 98 Lite is a setup utility that helps you strip out all the garbage (like web integration) from Win98. So much for "tightly integrated".

  6. Re:Kerberos? Isn't it Cerebus? on Kerberos, PACs And Microsoft's Dirty Tricks · · Score: 1

In classic Latin, Cerebus would be pronounced "care-eh-boose" and in Seminary Latin it would be "sar-eh-boose". Seminary Latin pronounces most C's as an S. Classic Latin allows NO soft C's. It the only words in Latin that begin with K are those inherited from Greek. Most likely Kerberos is the Greek and Cerebus is the Latin (Roman). Also, in Greek it is Herecles not Hercules. Therefore, the logical assumption would be as follows: In the 12 labors of Herecles, he went to the underworld and captured Kerberos. In the 12 labors of Hercules, he went to the underworld and captured Cerebus.

    Thus endith the lesson.

  8. What grade did you get? on JBuilder Foundation is Free - and for Linux · · Score: 1

Pointers - EVERY object in Java is accessed by reference. Sure seems like a pointer to me. Of course, Java does not require you to use the &, *, jump to the left, lift your right leg and fart, method of referencing and dereferencing them. If it is passed by reference, why not have the language automatically do that shit for you?

More on Pointers - No pointer math -- THANK YOU! Array bounds enforcement -- THANK YOU!

#include - import only loads the classes you actually use in the code, not the entire package.

Strings - They SHOULD be a class. If you want to treat them like C++ strings, use the StringBuffer class. They should have overridden the == operator though.

Objects - DUH! Java is an OBJECT-ORIENTED language. What should it do, use procedures? Integer is an object, int is a primative. That is just what you should have learned the first day of class.

Java is a tool, like any other language. Learn to use it and use it for the right job and it is a great language.
