The Argentinian economy is still a mess 15 years later. More than half the population there live in extreme poverty. You cannot blame the EU for the Irish and Greeks being irresponsible. That was their fault. They allowed it to happen. The people voted for governments who allowed it to happen. They took all the benefits and didn't pay attention to what was actually happening financially. Things would be alot worse if they, especially Ireland, hadn't received bailout money from EU countries. Greece were a wealthy country maybe a few thousand years ago, but they were pretty poor before this crisis and should never have borrowed such money.
Going down the Argentina route wouldn't have helped in any way.
There are plenty of other sources to get income from. But instead they took the easy option and sold their soul to the devil. And for the amount of money they were offered, who wouldn't?

For us electric costs are not a problem, because we are at a hydro electric plant.
The US economy requires imports and exports to grow. Keep flipping off other countries and you will very quickly find that your "Fair" Tax only alienates the US economy and causes massive drop in exports. Anti American sentiment around the world is already quite high.
It wont shut down because MS will continue to fund it. However, they have already driven most of the original community away by reinventing the wheel and changing what was a good, simple distro that just just worked. Pretty much anyone who queried this was banished from the main forum community or slapped on the wrists by Unity zealots.
There is alot of bad blood from former Ubuntu users and also people who work with other distros that were shafted by Ubuntu.
The mods on Ubuntu forums hand out refractions like there's no tomorrow. Anyone who has much as criticizes Unity or mentions the embeded sypware gets an immediate refraction.
Of course you're going to lock people in. You need the business and don't want some other fucker coming in and eating your lunch.
They just aren't accepting code from him until he fixes that issue. The summary makes it sound much more dramtic than it really is.

Selling a single boot Ubuntu machine is pointless too. Friends don't let friends use Ubuntu.
Ubuntu spyware? No thanks.
I paid that in the UK for a 500gb one about two years ago. Definitely being ripped off.
Install Classic start and it's perfectly usable.
