The fact is, politicians *are* insane. You just argue all the time, instead of doing anything productive. So please don't include me in your insane arguments - instead do something productive and I'm interested.;)
"The OS X file dialog is only great if you haven't used KDE or even any recent version of Office. There is no file preview, and navigating directories is cumbersome at best.
I'm not sure what good defending Finder will do. Almost all serious OS X users find Finder to be seriously lacking in comparison to other file managers, even Explorer on Win XP; I know I sure do. I use Linux with KDE and Mac OS X daily, and Konqueror (the KDE file browser) puts Finder to shame." I pretty much think you're trolling at this point. Mac OS X Column view is navigable using the keyboard and it has a file preview.
"...Can they please please please rewrite the Finder and the associated Open/Save controls from scratch? Managing files on OS X feels so awkward compared to every other OS out there. Hopefully the leopard finder will at the very least be properly multithreaded...."
I don't know what bizarro planet of funhouse organization you're on, but your opinion is completely out there. It's extremely easy to navigate around OS X. I can navigate the open and save dialog boxes with my eyes closed using only the keyboard. Perhaps a refresher in the Keyboard commands will help to get you up to speed? http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75459
This is definitely on my list to buy. First looks seem to be positive. I read through this and found some features and touches to look forward to: http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/liveblog/leopard-liveblog-the-first-two-hours-315093.php
I'm personally excited about the changes under the hood with respect to multithreading as this is purported to take advantage of multicore and multiprocessor hardware even more than Tiger. This could be the best OS X yet, if not the best OS ever.:)
This game is great. To me it looks like Pixar meets World of Warcraft. Slightly cartoonish, but detailed. Blizzard should be taking cues from the look...
"...Sets some president..." Yes, sets some president of some Law Firm up with a lot of cash for the year and sets the president of Verizon up to get flogged by his board of directors when even more lawsuits start to come in due to this precedent. (Fixed that for you.)
I read this thread and I think most comments are just ridiculous. The Commenter in the Article is ridiculous as well. Games today are _amazing_. I noticed that nobody seemed to mention World of Warcraft. Love it or hate it, it appears to be one of the most successful video games _ever_. Now Halo 3 is getting up to that status as well. I personally think the opinions presented here are mostly completely subjective. Games today are really very much approaching http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperreality. I think that the change of games and television and all content is really more fascinating than this lamenting of yesterday. What does it say about our World Culture? Where are we headed? What is the next form of entertainment going to be? Have we been entertained too much so now we're all bored?
LMAO. Whenever I go to the Microsoft Typography web page I LAUGH! All this is is some pathetic attempt by MS to maintain their relevance. Their new fonts are CRAP. Why not license some REAL fonts like Frutiger Next, or Univers, or something respectable in the Typography community and provide those instead of these knockoffs? Sheesh.
Well according to Netcraft, you have 15% percent of my attention. You are attempting to qualify and quantify multiple viewpoints into a conflated mess of anti-Apple. It just doesn't hold water. Don't conflate when you type your hate, you're making me irate when you berate the great-est OS released to date!
NVIDIA Tech: Johnson, you've been playing that game for hours, how's it going?
NVIDIA Tech 2: We just finished level three and need to tighten up the graphics a little bit.
NVIDIA Tech: Great!

Because Novell has obviously turned to the Dark Side. SuSe is off limits, IMO. I think this is all because of the real threat that Ubuntu is. There is no going back. Linux has won. MS just can't see it yet.
Jeez, Can someone please give me the short version explanation about why everyone is bagging on Wolfram?
Batteruby on Rails? Charge up and you're Gone in 60 Seconds? Now that's a Streetcar Name I Desire!

"Mashup" needs to be stricken from use for all of eternity. The only word or phrase I'm sick of more than "Mashup" is "Web 2.0".

You wouldn't understand...

I, for one, welcome our Occasionally-Editing Anonymous Coward Overlords. I'm not only a proponent, I'm one of them!
Agreed. Best rebuttal of the thread. Mod +5 Informative
That's Horse Hooey. It's completely because people were writing software for it now. Since when is an announced future SDK a deal breaker?
Sounds like total bullshit to me.
No Star Wars R2D2 Hologram Effect in iChat?! Dealbreaker!!!

Heh, awesome. Best post of the thread. PWNT.
I completely agree. Over at least the past few OS X updates, my machines get faster and faster. That never happens in the Windows world.

As a Soviet Citizen, lucky feels ME!
You must be a moron. They can detain people and not tell ANYONE you silly goose.
Yes, IMO this is totally about MS stifling adoption of Ubuntu. Even though the suit is put out by a proxy company and targeted at Red Hat.
