Exactly. And a Foxconn spokesperson agrees: “Supply chain is one of the big challenges for U.S. expansion,” Woo said. “In addition, any manufacturing we take back to the U.S. needs to leverage high-value engineering talent there in comparison to the low-cost labor of China.”
1) So what if it's a PR move? It's still a good move for Americans - no matter what. 2) So what if it's a Foxconn factory? Of course it will be one - Apple is NOT a manufacturing company, but they do work *very* closely with their manufacturers. 3) So what if it's a mostly robotic factory? This IS the future of manufacturing in all countries - accept it, and accept that even robotic factories are better than none for the local economy.
Seriously, how are so many of you trying to spin this negatively? And why?
Is this the new linux fallback explanation? If something doesn't work under linux, surely it's the users fault! Oh wait... I guess that's been the explanaton for awhile, according to some.
Don't get me wrong, I like linux and am involved with it in many ways, but your answer was completely idiotic.
Damn, even my grandparents know what a "google search" is. I'm positive that everyone I know does. Do they think to do it as often as they could? No, but they do know what it is.
Certainly the majority of people in any modern country know what a "google search" is.
There are many reasons to want a 17" laptop, just as there are many reasons to want a ultra portable 9" laptop. Personally I own both and use them for very different things.
"but it is not feasible to wear protective gear on the building site and work on that".. WTF?
Have you ever even been on a construction site? The standard protective gear for one of the occupations you mention is going to be a hardhat and steel toe / shanked boots. How do either of those make it hard to use a 17" laptop, and what specifically is harder to use about a 17" laptop than a 13"? Idiot.
Whether your running windows or linux, any button can be mapped to the middle button. (For the logitech mice).
Unfortunately, under windows, the Logitech setpoint software is IMO a nightmare.
"As of 2001, LAAS was capable of achieving a Category I ILS accuracy of 16 m laterally and 4 m vertically. The goal of the LAAS program is to provide Category III ILS capability. The FAA has not specified the required minimum accuracy for lateral and vertical error of a Cat. III system. However, a Category III approach allows aircraft to land with zero visibility utilizing 'autoland' systems and indicates a very high accuracy of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_Area_Augmentation_System
Also - the GPSr in a commercial jet is going to be a bit better than your $150 Garmin handheld.
... I should also add that it's actually quite hard to get a signal in a large passenger jet with a handheld GPSr, though it is possible with luck and a sensitive receiver. (Such as the SiRF III or other modern receivers.)
A GPSr is a radio receiver only. It doesn't transmit anything.
I would be extremely amazed if your GPSr was affecting anything.
For what it's worth I've used my receiver on quite a few commercial flights (Sometimes the pilots say okay, sometimes not.) Haven't been in any crashes yet.
Quite a few people run dev kernels -- especially those running new hardware that requires the absolute latest support. This is a little more serious than most bugs.
I disagree.
I'm a tweaker and tend to re-install windows very often, especially when tweaking for a specific game. Anyway, addons for games are always just as easily cracked & pirated as the games themselves.

Good thought!

Aww flamebait? Thats the best you could do? Must be a pulse audio developer. Fact is, it sucks.
.. and don't even get me started on some of my high end HTPC cards, thats just talking about my laptop onboard audio.
Linux is still a big fat fail here.
Really, it is.
It can be a pain in the ass to get working still, and is buggy.
I'm sure it works well for some, but many others still have problems.
Wow, troll? So calling people retards is not a troll, but that is? No doubt the person who modded this is of high intelligence.
Insightful? Not really.
It's called making a living, and believe me, forcing pops does indeed work.
Where do you live? Or perhaps, what year?

The time can be set from a program too, not just in BIOS.
For those that haven't heard of it, shorpy.com has some very cool old high res pictures. I can spend hours looking through them.

Servos and remotes are cheaper than people.
That may not be true in some parts of the world.
Is html / wml with a web server backend.
... and now, a few years later again, the PC is vastly superior for the purpose.
Xbox lacks CPU power and RAM for many things (Such as playing many HD formats, also playing many MAME games).
Modded xboxes were very cool, but I prefer my mythtv box by a long shot.
How cold is that in libraries of congresses?
Hehe... Well, the problem is that windows tends to break when you do lots of driver changes / adjustments / hard reboots.
Generally a type of ground based augmentation system is used.
WAAS, LAAS, etc. (These ones are used in US)

Back before they dropped most of it.
