Heh, I've never watched Bill O'Reilly. He sounds like a putz. I have no interest in him.
The reason I know about it is because it was in news articles, when the CEO of the Red Cross resigned.
Here's an article about a local CEO - as in for one city! Local Red Cross CEO high salary. If the salary wasn't such a big deal, why did she lie about it?
Here's an excerpt:
"The audit was called for after Jacob learned that the Red Cross had collected about $400,000 locally during and after the Alpine fire, but just under half was actually earmarked for fire victims."
So if they're paying $300K/year for their CEO, and you're saying it's so they can be successful with their mission, then why did half of the money people donated for victims of fire go anywhere but to the victims? Not to mention the so-called "Liberty fund" fiasco?
The article is entirely/.'d, so, I can't say if they did, but if they're going to include CEOs, they should specifically mention CEOs of the various Red Cross chapters.
Red Cross donations are regularly pissed away on them. Some are making >$200K for a supposed "charity". What a joke.
Shake: Jeez, you guys got some amazing space age tubes, running every which way in there. Oglethorpe: Yeah, they are called pipes! You should get some.
---
Replicant: Man, do you have a car? Meatwad: Well, we got a cart. Did you want me to pull you somewhere? Replicant: No, that'll take forever. Look, I'll just ah, replicate your neighbors rig. That'll work. Frylock: I thought you said you couldn't replicate other things. Replicant: Well I don't KNOW that I can't do it. I will need one of those amazing, space age, you know, tubes. Frylock: What, a pipe? Replicant: Yeah, that.
There's nothing saying the receiving dish has to be a minimum size - it could itself be large enough to account for a fraction of a degree difference (which should still trigger a shutdown of course).
I think Neo knew that the way to destroy Smith was to let Smith merge with him. Neo saw that Smith retained the Oracle's qualities when he took her over. So I think Neo sabotaged Smith. He fought him so long and hard at the end though, so as to not let on, maybe? Or maybe he didn't know right away? I dunno.
Then again, Neo was supposed to be the opposite of Smith, so I guess it could just be a cancellation thing.
Indeed, I think he was created by the Oracle as well. I believe that Smith was created by the Architect. She had said that the Architect was there to balance the equation, and she was there to unbalance it.
I think she created Neo first, and he countered with Smith. As the Matrix reloaded all those times (7 or whatever?) they both made their Neos and Smiths stronger, until the point that Neo was strong enough to end the war. The Architect's Smith had to be uber mega strong then - able to spread itself and all that - to counter Neo.
But I dunno, I just got done seeing it, haven't had much time to let it "sink in." Lots and lots and lots of action kind of threw me off the trail I think.
Sorry. I was speaking out of anger there. I really think it was inappropriate, to one of the greater degrees. But, it doesn't mean I should have gotten so upset. Blah.
Indeed. Numbered streets just plain make sense. It'd be fine if the names were nicknames, but don't make the numbers impossible to read, and certainly don't make the names "official".
If they'd outfit those two with digital cameras, so they can take GPS-tagged (or at least date-tagged, to be later GPS'd from a log) pictures as they go.
At the very least, it'd be neat to have landmark and interchange photos up there.
So I guess this pretty much validates those eBay sales eh? If Pepsi and McDonalds can buy songs at retail and then "resell them" or in this case give them away, why couldn't anyone else?:)
Oh right that whole they have lots of lawyers thing...
Yeah. The NGage is 137x69x20mm . That's roughly 5.3" long. This Sony device looks like it's 6" long (according to/. estimates due to its 4.5" diag screen). I imagine it scales up in the other dimensions as well. It just seems so very big.
Not only that, but the PSP looks like it's modeled similarly to the NGage - and very different from the GBA. I dunno. Both of 'em look like devices which would get scratched screens very quickly, as opposed to the GBA SP which can close up when it's in your pocket. Oh right, plus, it'll fit in your pocket! I wonder what Sony is thinking here.
This may actually be a more frustrating form factor than the taco/ngage.
Gameboy Advance can play Gameboy games. SP can play 'em without an adapter - I think some games required an adapter on the older model.
I seem to remember an adapter you could get to play Gameboy games on the SNES(?).
Gameboy games can be played on a Gamecube, admittedly with a relatively expensive adapter.
Atari 5200 could play 2600 games. Ok so I'm stretching here. Point is, out of the relatively modern popular gaming platforms, many of them do offer backwards compatibility.
Correction: Since Halflife 2 was delayed, ATI set up a deal with Valve to distribute Halflife 1 plus mods to "tide people over" til HL2 is released. ATI coupon holders will get HL2 when it comes out.
Eh. There's a really good reason for it. The framerate is not going to be steady in many cases/games. So if you're averaging 50fps, you're going above and below that - the hope is that you don't drop down to 30 or below FPS of course.
It seems that it would be prudent for Microsoft to announce something about backwards compatibility if they're going to make such a dramatic platform change. That's one of the greatest things for early adopters of the PS2 - they could still play their PS1 games on 'em.

Let's start worrying when we come up with the technology to "scorch the sky".

Yeah, sorta like the "AMD's can cook eggs" thing. Heh. Intel's new chip beats the pants off of AMD's in terms of heat.

Or you can do what I did, and select CowboyNeal stories for exclusion.
You're a cockbite CowboyNeal, that was completely unnecessary. God damn.
Is Quebec really 40% of North America? I find that very hard to believe, considering in 1999 Quebec was 25% of Canada's population alone.
Yeah. I'm surprised the story didn't mention that. These are definitely not the original trilogy movies.

The best part is that this would be a hard job to send overseas! Built in job security!

Yeah, but not your classic spammer. Instead it'll be your Mom and Pop deli or quicky mart announcing the latest special as you walk by.
As soon as someone makes a device as easy to program as those LED bars, and as cheap, businesses will eat them up like candy.

Er, you have a choice now. There are tons and tons of games for the PC. What exactly is the problem here?
