On the contrary, it's the ONLY indicator of SCO's fortunes, for they have no real/actual revenue (aside from the bullshit $699 licensing).
However, it is VERY pleasing to see that it dropped so much so quickly after news broke. That means that people are still at least somewhat sane. They know there's very little propping SCOX up, and that any bad news could cause it to fall fast, so lots of people have set it to sell very quickly at even the most minor of price drops.
Yeah, we have a helmet law here in the nanny state of Seattle. It's bogus.
The CPSC needs to make themselves relevant, and in order to do so, they have to exert some authority. It's too bad, because most of their recalls fall under the category of "Y'all should know about this already, and if you don't, do not have children".
To my understanding, there's little reason a similarly built device (cost-wise) could not reach Mars. Maybe it'd need bigger solar panels or something, but the engine ought to still work.
What I'm curious about is why every retailer on the face of the earth sells every system for the same price. (Or, nearly every). Are the margins that tight, or are they just worried they'd head towards subsidizing the consoles just to keep competitive, or is it something more sinister?
What makes it brilliant is that Dell is going to sell it to everyone, while Apple is selling iTunes to barely a handful of users. But as everyone pro-Apple will tell you, iTunes for Windows will be coming out really soon!!!
No, if Dell were to actually copy Apple, they'd charge 50% more for their products, they'd start building their own computer components in-house to be "leet", and then they'd release their music service to only 3-5% of the US computer market telling everyone else that they can join in later, "maybe", once they get around to writing the software for the non-Dell market.
Perhaps we could attempt an aerosol can buyback program. Of course, this might just end up increasing aerosol can thefts, but if we cut off the supply at the stores at the same time, we may have something here.
I dunno about that. Congress seems to have recently turned its back on the tobacco industry, too. I wonder if the campaign subsidies are drying up, or if the members of Congress are on to some hip new industry to get funding from?
Well, when my girlfriend has her hand in my pocket.. one could argue that she is indeed getting something out of it. But really, I'm the one getting fondled.
but er.. I think the way it's supposed to go is the judges end up in the pockets of the big corporations (alongside all of the politicians).
That's a great way to spend effort. I'm glad Google is concentrating on that rather than on making their search engine usable once again.
The day they figure out a way to stop the keyword spammers will be a very, very good day for the Internet as a whole. Location targetted searching... er.. yawn.. any business out there that wants us to visit already has their city on their website anyways.
The state lottery here has machines all over that can check the barcode on your ticket to see if you've won anything. Obviously, there isn't a "win" flag on the ticket itself, just like there wouldn't need to be a full record of the vote on your receipt.
Of course, there'd be no reason to believe that just because the system claims your vote was counted in such a way, that it actually was. Never trust computers, they were programmed by those capable of lying and deceit.
Er. You're thinking of a REPUBLIC, not democracy. Very different things, in that a true democracy would allow everything to end up on a ballot, instead of only what the Big Money Interests want to be there (as in US life).
A true democracy in a MMORPG would be quite neat, so long as the developers of the game leave it open-ended enough so that they don't need to intervene after every public vote.
Open your eyes man. Look through some news archives. People are not necessarily shot, but they're beaten with sticks, sprayed with gasses and pepper spray, have pepper spray dabbed in their eyes and much more. All in a "Western" country.

Drat! Those damned "always" rules. I'm still feeling burned after the whole "I before E" garbage shoved down my throat in grade school..
c) learn grammer and speling to
That's the #1 reason I think spam doesn't do well - the e-mails are downright unintelligable.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Deep Space One use an ion engine as well, and it was deemed a success?

I thought it was because my hard drive has lots of fine pseudo-lesbian pornography ..er.. art films.
Or those 50 million people voted for The Other Guy.

If it's so bad, maybe they should all move to the US, where everyone gets proper recognition for their actions. It's perfection down here I tells ya.

So, you're saying, you want to be able to lie to your insurance company, and then the court, about how fast you were going?
Now, I'm not a fan of this black box thing, but I don't think you're going to win much sympathy here.
My IM is not opt-in. But it's funny, I don't get *any* spam, ever, at all. I'm on both Yahoo and MSN simultaneously, too.
But, I'm glad that option exists.

The ACLU is suing the California government in an attempt to block paper voting - they appear to be in favor of electronic voting.
:)
Story
Makes ya wonder where those ACLU donations are really going eh.

That was a non-violent protest. They chained themselves to something, they weren't throwing things and fighting.
Or maybe you have a different definition of non-violent?

MySQL's slogan. "Release early, release often". I'm not kidding.
Yeah, but this is what we all want to see:
Well, all but the Mozilla users of course...
