...the use of owning 1000 Facebook IDs ? What is the idea ?
Apparently to try the usernames and passwords on banking sites as some users use the same for both. Plus I'd imagine there are ways you could use it to blackmail/extort people...
Valve: Bringing gaming to Linux. (And I don't care how much you think it can't be tolerated, it's still great and wonderful and I will continue to use it.)
The image you link to that actually shows Muhammed was from the episode "Super Best Friends" which aired in 2001, long before the Danish Cartoon Controversy which was in 2005. I don't recall anyone even commenting on it.
In 2006 they released "Cartoon Wars" I & II which were a bit edgy, what with the Danish cartoons fresh in everyones mind but got surprisingly little attention. Cartoon Wars didn't actually show Muhammed as the show was censored by Comedy Central.
Interestingly I've just noticed that the Danish cartoons are available on Wikipedia.
Well, lots of people complain about the lock-down of apple products. Some might call this fascism. The Nazis were famous fascists. One of their plans was the "Final Solution". By calling attention to MikeFM's use of this phrase I was humorously implying that Apple have a plan, similar to Hitler's Final Solution and are, with OS4, "getting much closer to" finishing it. In fact I wasn't the first person, even in this thread, to compare Jobs to Hitler (albeit in jest). Though involving the subject of Nazis and the attempted extermination of the Jews, it was in fact a light-hearted joke. I was not implying that MikeFM was wrong to use this phrase - he probably didn't even think twice because, as you so rightly point out, it's a legitimate use of English.
Unfortunately, as we all know:
joke + explanation != humour
I'm guessing towards the end of the game you teleport to a strange world populated by weird bipedal creatures and unusually strong gravity where you get to walk everywhere instead of jumping tediously from platform to platform.
Then you I would wager you pay far more attention to detail in your writing than other people purely because of the practice you have had and the almost Pavlovian response to typos causing issues.
And while we're on the topic, does anyone else have an issue with the use of , "of all time"?
No, not really. It clarifies that the people they are talking about aren't just the best active players but the best that have ever played the game. Sure, "all time" in this case only means the last 12 years or so but it still makes perfect sense.
Hello and welcome to Slashdot.
Whereas Counter-Strike is serious business?

"Insightful"? Really?
Or "Valve: bringing all of their games to Linux and open up an easy (for developers) route for other games to follow".
Or "Valve: At least they're fucking trying."

...because of the satellite-based speed camera system?
Using ad/flash-blocking software is a crime now?
No-one is being arrested. It's their site and their choice.
Who are the customers of a site such as this; the users, or the advertisers?
The advertisers. They're the ones that are paying.
Unless I've missed something UK internet isn't censored, just monitored and recorded.
They don't stop you doing bad things, they just watch you do it.
The perverts.
So what?

OS 4 is getting much closer to a final solution.
Interesting choice of words.
They're half way there...

Close. Half Life is a single player game. They're more likely play Counter Strike.
He has caused damage to our relationships with allies like the UK that may NEVER be healed.
I must have missed something. What are you referring to?
I think "woosh" is the term usually employed at this juncture.
I worry more that people worry so much about the name.
THIS IS MY DEFINITION OF CAPITALISM.
(here are some lower case letters to bypass Slashdot's anti-capitalism filter)
I thought that was Bill Oddie?

It has it's positives i.e. vigilante justice [...] this vigalante mob justice has never sat well with me.
Wait, are you for it or against it?
I simply pay attention to what I'm writing.
Are you a programmer?
(honest question)
Aaah Jordan! I wondered what Michael Jackson had to do with sport...
