I agree with you that if a large number of companies jump ship it would hurt the ISO, but I doubt it will happen any time soon.
Don't get me wrong. I'd love for it to happen but the cynic in me doesn't see it...
However, if people start viewing the ISO as irrelevant and just doing what a big company like Microsoft wants, then they run the risk of becoming irrelevant. That might be the kind of thing they take notice of.
Isn't that already happening? Are not some governments in Europe already viewing the ISO as irrelevant?
It seems to me this will have little meaning in the long run. It's been shown the ISO is deep in the pockets of M$. Do they really care what IBM thinks or does? I mean they already got their money right?
About the entire nature of 0. What is 0? Is it like infinity? The opposite of everything is nothing?
I am not a math person by any stretch (and all of this pondering here pure speculation) but as I understand 0 it is the absence of any value.
Looking at this statement 0+0>0 makes me think we are looking at 2 sets of 0 values.
Do we need to count each set of values?
While the answer is not > 1 it is > 0 because we have 2 sets of 0.
Also in the same case what about 0+0? Could the answer really in fact be 2?
Just fucking have a system that takes your vote, prints out 2 pages one you keep for your records, the other scanned by a bar code reader and but in a lock box.
How fucking hard is that????
I know I am going to get slammed on here for this, however Astrology is far more than just predictive. In fact the few Astrologers I know have said that the worse part of Astrology is trying to predict the future because it is so inaccurate. When you look at a person's natal chart, which is a snapshot of the planetary positions at birth, all you see are the Astrological conditions of that person's birth. One Astrologer told me it is just a tool to help you figure out what makes a person tick. It is akin to the Nature vs Nurture argument where the question is a person made up of his DNA or the environment in which he is raised? Now as I believe it is a combination of Nature/Nurture and Astrology. Look at all 3 aspects and you can get a good understanding of who you are. It is really just a tool for self-exploration, for looking inward and understand the whys of who you are more than any predictive tool.
I played D&D from the time I was about 10 until I was 25. In that time D&D got me into being creative. It helped explore my self, helped me learn how to work in a team, how to think fast, how to act in almost any given situation. It allowed my to explore and expand my knowledge in a safe environment. How to ad lib off the cuff. The time I spent playing D&D formed one of the core foundations of who I am today.
Gary. Thank you for helping me become who I am. Thank you for everything.
See you on the other side!
I do. The price of advertising will always go up in response to increased operating costs. Now I do happen to agree with you that most likely small radio will fade away and all we will have left is Clear Channel and other similar ilk.
I've read a few comments here stating if this comes to pass how radio stations will start playing indie content. I don't think that will happen. Radio will continue as it was the only difference being the cost of doing business will have gone up. The price of advertising on radio will go up and in some small way that cost will trickle down to the average consumer.
"The Internet wasn't designed for people to watch television," he says. "I know because I designed it."
I thought Al Gore said that he designed that there tarraweb thingy?
and here come the cries from the government "Quick we pass these laws to protect us!!!" Yeah right...

Granted IBM had more revenue but it was M$'s standard which was approved. That tells me M$ had more money to talk with.
It seems to me this will have little meaning in the long run. It's been shown the ISO is deep in the pockets of M$. Do they really care what IBM thinks or does? I mean they already got their money right?
WTF?

Sex with 9 women? Come on... this is /.
I mean when looked at from a geeky stand point shooting down a high fast moving object from a ship based platform is rather cool.
man I wish I had mod points for you... Gotta love xkcd!
I just have to say this is just neat!
Don't you mean "Don't track me bro!"?

You know, it sounds like a quote from a Douglas Addams book. He had us pegged didn't he?
"The Internet wasn't designed for people to watch television," he says. "I know because I designed it." I thought Al Gore said that he designed that there tarraweb thingy?
