No, he's just another politician, saying things that he thinks will get him elected
I agree, and this is exactly why 99% of the vitriol here against any of the candidates is ridiculous. Every president in my lifetime has governed in a way that is vastly different from how they campaigned. They are all liars, because truth doesn't get you elected.
When I see comments like, "But Obama believes X" or "But McCain supports Y", I just shake my head -- you have no idea what they believe or support.
Even their voting records can't be trusted, because what they supported in the past to get campaign donations and stay in office is different from what they will be required to support as president to get donations and stay in office.
...have left a whole people to live a brutal life under Sharia, with the women especially living a totally different life than they can live today.
Clearly your confusing Iraq with Afghanistan. Iraqis didn't live under Sharia, although the government has taken steps inthat direction since our idiotic invasion.
I read recently (sorry, no source) that Ford was the company who started the whole "let's make a new model with slightly different features" thing. It was a marketing gimmick designed to make people with the (perfectly good) older model feel inadequate compared to those with the newest model.
From that point of view, creating new models yearly works well despite the added costs, because it's an incentive for folks to replace their old cars.
Actually they could just spend their time more wisely and directly learn the language they want in the first place.
I would disagree somewhat, partly because you make the assumption that Latin is just a stepping-stone to the language I REALLY want to learn. Don't forget that, although Latin is dead, there's a nearly endless back catalog of Latin literature that's worth reading (from as recently as the 19th century). Of course, if you master basic Latin, you'll have general reading knowledge of many other languages.
Your statement also implies an either/or approach -- either learn Latin or be 'wiser' and learn the language I really want to learn. The language I really wanted to learn was German, and I did.
But my 4 years of Latin allow me to travel in Europe relatively painlessly. Would it have been 'wiser' for me to just learn Italian and try to extrapolate that to French, Spanish, or Portuguese? Maybe, but I would've missed out on some great literature.
One doesn't capitalize the 'o' when referring to general office software. It's pretty simple, really.
You see, in English, capital letters are reserved for specific occurrences, one of them being proper nouns, which would include the use of capitalization in the word 'Office' in the post you replied to (but only if the OP was referring to the name brand).
Funny, my copy of MS Office -- which is what OP clearly meant by "Office software" -- didn't come with SQL Server. Maybe I should call the MS rep and find out what's up. *slaps you for having no reading comprehension skills*
No, it's entirely the fault of the Republican party...
I agree with all your points, and I consider myself a conservative. Here's hoping Obama slaughters McCain in November, leading a return (or perhaps just a creation*) of conservatism in the Republican Party, and a return to a country-first rather than party-first way of thinking.

To split hairs, the roads around here are packed with unregistered vehicles: bicycles, trikes, and scooters just to name the ones I saw this morning. All can have engines. None need be registered (in Nevada, anyway).
I live in Las Vegas, where it's sunny 355 days a year. Yet my power comes from the same places yours does (and will until at least 2012).
Here's a brilliant idea: instead of building massive solar farms, how 'bout putting those solar panels on the roofs of existing and new buildings? No environmental survey needed. Hell, you can put one on the roof of my someday-in-the-future electric car, too, so I won't even have to plug it in to recharge.
He said sports clothes, not sneakers, and on this point I agree with him. The very expensive Nike and Adidas clothing at Sports Chalet are identical to the much cheaper Champion or even some no-name brands found at Target. Yet I look around at the gym and see tons of Nike and Under Armour shorts and t-shirts.
This is purely a result of marketing -- folks are paying double for the popular logo.
Agreed. My undergraduate mentor was fond of saying: "Know everything about something, and something about everything."

I used to think like you, then I saw this shocking video that changed my mind.
Except for the fact that, y'know, Clinton didn't vote on the bill
Actually, she voted No.
[Obama]had terrible judgement to start with
Obama was against Iraq from the beginning.

A few years ago I had a girlfriend
I didn't believe you...
and she was blind.
...and then I did.
I tried the hidden container feature to see how it works (and found it too annoying to always input two passwords).
You don't have to enter 2 passwords to use the hidden volume.

Really, who's to say which is 'wiser'?
I think I was just raised frugally.
Wolves are often quite frugal.

In Nevada she'd have to be 15 for it to be statutory rape.

He was probably half-racist.
Entirely irrelevant to the conversation, but if you'd like to somehow tie it into all this, feel free.
I you're going to troll, at least follow along.

Nice try though.
As I noted, it's a someday-in-the-future car -- requiring less electricity and using super-efficient solar panel technology.
Follow along next time.~

Probably a Ukrainian disguised as a crackwhore -- social engineering strikes again.
Porn backup.
