They adressed this before, not that I can remember it word for word. They were saying they would bring the game anywhere where there was a full develpment version of the tourque engine but unfortunately PSN dosent have one.
Too bad PS owners, maybe it works on PS3Linux install:P
Because I am a geek/nerd and want my tech news. I just dont happen to delve into the coding of Kernel's very often. In fact I dont even code, but does that somehow bar me from Slashdot?
Is there any chance someone who understands this can translate it a bit? I may be a nerd but I dont do much with Kernel's or much coding and would really appreciate if someone could simplify this a bit so I could understand it.
Or maybe Maze War or Star Raiders? But im not being picky about what was first though:P (with multiplayer being Maze War or MIDI Maze cant remember which).
So up and down was a major update with the premise of the game and everything you do is the same. Though the same can be said for a lot of genre's which have minor updates over time but still often end up feeling the same. Then again maybe im a jaded gamer since ive been playing since before I can remember:D
My only problem was the lack of varied enviroments, with all the grey corridors I was never sure whether I was progressing. Otherwise I just enjoyed the experience, and enjoy repeating it everynow and then.
The multiplayer on the other hand was useless with inconsistent Fp/s and arbitrary lag. I can deal with low Fp/s (Im in a Cod4 clan doing scrims when I have 10fp/s lol) but not inconsistent.
Fix those problems and ill be Id's fanboy troll for then:D (kidding, Ill love the game though)
The flash light thing was a bit wierd but I the experience it created was awesome. Seeing the light at the end of a corridor, or not wanting to leave an area because it had light was a great experience or perhaps the lone light source being a fireball hurling towords you? If you accept it in I think most people will enjoy it (in the same way you can enjoy horror films). Unfortunately most of my friends gave up easy being used to bright lights and jungle textures and things.
Not a chance DOOM is a legend in gaming, and the way its set up you can tweak it to make it still fun but still feel 'classic'. In fact most of the modern games arent that diffrent from Doom, there may be a million billion polygons and shaders and stuff like that, there may be 'iron sights' and 'Squad based multiplayer' but at there hearts FPS's havent changed since the early days.
Im all for more DOOM, though more varied enviroments would be nice.
All I can say is thank god. If the parents wont do it someone has to.
While there at it make get some education for the parents as well, if parents knew what was happening children would be a lot safer and so would there bank details etc. Education is paramount, teach them about the world we live in.
I know a lot of girls my age (18) who actually think meatloaf from his main days was quite hot. Might backfire if they do that, they think even if they arent a cute boy there a rich singer.
Pissed as in really annoyed, the alternative being pissed as in 'in an inebriated state'. So im rather annoyed right now (though I plan to also be pissed at the weekend:P)
Personally they can keep my account all they want, If I have it avalible to the world then its out there already. Since I started using the internet ive known not to put anything anywhere you dont want publicically avalible forever. Though as for Facebooks right to do this? I dont think so. They may have some sort of backward legal right to do this but if thats the case someone needs to get some sort of action together to stop it. If not they will end up simply licencing the data off to companies, if anyones making money of your life it should be you.
Thats true, I Spent the majority of my first week at college figuring out how the firewall worked and bypassing to so me and the other guys in my class can play Quake 3 and stuff:D Then I reconfigured the network boot process to not load up the (local) firewall so we can download new games to play, it also booted up a hell of a sight faster. I told the IT guys id messed with it, left it to them to fix it:P Lots of fun.
My college has a crap firewall. Apparently they 'fixed' it over the summer a week before I arrived but within a day id bypassed it and starting playing the Q3A demo with my classmates. We downloaded a bunch more demos like UT99/2k4 etc. then about 5 weeks later they fixed that. 2 days later wed bypassed it again, frankly its laughable. The best part is 1/3 of the school is getting taughts IT. They even have a course specific to network security.
Welcome to 1984.
I live in the US so this dosent affect me, but indirectly it could. It may make the UK govermant want the same thing. I doubt it will be democratically decided though.

eh.. I read slashdot all the time and I have 1gb (2*512's).
Ah thats good news, I would hate for malicious players to be preventing non-windows players enjoying the game.
Anyone know how this affects Wine players? Im not one myself but im wondering if this prevents linux/bsd (macosx?) players?
One of the single greatest games ever.
