You run out of beer eventually. And they may even stop airing hockey on TV at some point!
I do not watch sports. I have much better things to do than watch millionaires playing a kids game.
I still don't see how going out to vote for someone I don't like, don't trust, don't support, and firmly believe is a sociopathic liar, is in any way better than not going out to vote and doing something productive with my evening.
Since I have to drive to the local polling office it could even be considered the environmentally responsible thing to do.
I call bullshit!
Explain to me ho voting for someone I don't want elected, who can not do anything if they are elected, is wetter than sitting home drinking beer?
There is no one worth voting for.
I live in BC.
I can't vote for the Liberals, because they are massively corrupt, and incompetent. Plus the woman who suppodedly is "leading" them is incapable of leadership of any kind.
I can't vote for the NDP, because the last time they were in power they fucked the economy so badly it took over a decade to recover, and their promises sound like they have learned nothing.
I can't vote for the Greens because they are a bunch of NIMBY assholes who obstruct any and all progress.
I can throw my vote away on an independant, but what is the point?
Nobody left.
More specifically, why would anyone want to invade Canada?
Fresh water & oil.
In that case the people most likely to invade Canada are Americans. Therefore we should not even consider buying an American aircraft at all. How do we know it can't simply be disabled with the flip of a switch, leaving us defenseless?
As a canadian, I do not believe the F35 is a good buy. I think we should take the lead and develop unmanned fighters.
As I see it the advantages of unmanned fighters are:
Cheaper
More maneuverable
Smaller/stealthier
Expendable
Sale-able
How far could you get in with a 4x4 with a snomobile on the back?
Not very far at all. I tried last winter and made it less than a quarter mile in my Jeep. But I expect a snowmobile could get in there without too much trouble.
It is my "the shit has hit the fan", bugout location, so no details on where it is. There are supplies, buried nearby. I have snowshoes, and I know how to use them. I could hike in if I had to.
* Go to a very, very remote 'destination' vacation: remote to the point where you have neither a hotel or coffee shop near by, or cell service. I can only think of like, one or two places in WY and SD where this applies, but I'm sure AK has a couple, too...
My favourite camping site meets this description exactly. No wireless signal at all. Half a mile up the road I can get a signal, enough for email, and texts, probably not good enough for phone.
The best part is it is that the site is about 20 miles up a road that is impassible without a pretty good 4x4. Most times I will not see another person while I am there.
I wish I could go there right now, but there is probably at least 4 Ft of snow.
To any Americans out there. Most of the the "terrorists" hate you for VERY good reasons. Mostly things your government have done in or too their countries.
Won't and can't work. My car is 24 years old. I know what every single part is, and you can probably find my fingerprints on all of them. There is no way to attach a device like this that I can't disable or remove it.
If I were being a real prick toward someone and they relieved their vengeance toward me, I would sensationalize the story about it to try and one-up them, just like this story sounds. If I would, millions of others would, too.
I am afraid you are a little off on the number. It is more like over 7 billion people would do what you described.
It has been said that there are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth.
I would add that the three sides show only a superficial resemblance to each other.
Wow! Paranoid much?
I am about as anti-government as anyone. But even I will admit a few rules are a good idea. Rules about gun storage, and some sort of permit requirement seems only logical to me.
I don't think that some people have advanced civilizationally in any significant manner, do you?
Nope. I have a very low opinion of people in general. When I can listen to the news without wanting to revoke my membership in the human race, perhaps I will begin to change my mind.
First. I think MS software generally sucks.
If I recall correctly MS were going to add a save to PDF, or print to PDF I think for Vista, and Adobe threatened to sue them over it.
So in this one case it is not Microsofts fault.
It must be nice to live in your black and white world. There are far too many shades of grey in my world.
Right or wrong, the fact is that it looks odd if you are applying for a technical job and you don't have a facebook presence.
If my 72 year old mother has a facebook account then EVERYONE has an account.
I always though FB was just pointless. But a friend of mine was applying for a job, and they wanted to see her facebook page. "I don't have one.", was not an acceptable answer.
This was for a highly paid job in a position of significant trust. I can understand their reasoning. Hiring someone to a position like that you would want to make sure that their FB would not become a cause of embarrassment later.
Note they asked to see her facebook, not for her login, or password.
After years of facebook hate. I finally surrendered and created an account. (Only because not having one is starting to look strange.)
Hours of fighting, cursing, and seriously elevated blood pressure later I was signed up and had found one relative. It was probably not a hack, just me trying to find a way to add someone without giving facebook my email credentials.
Facebook can have access to my email when they pry the credentials from my cold dead hands!
Your car is still a baby. My car is 24 years old. My Motorcycle is 32 years old.
There is no excuse for driving a vehicle that stalls when it is cold. Fix it! You are endangering yourself, and others.

It beats not voting.

I am going to start building my bunker.
They can start building these space colonies as soon as they start mass producing flying cars. :)
Hell yes! Anyone got a link to download a .torrent of an Ariel Atom?

Shatner is a very funny man, who doesn't take himself very seriously.
Why wouldn't he have twitter followers?
I know it is The Onion, but it is rather insightful.

Watch this get modded all over the map.

Five minutes using unity and I was sure that the ONLY way it made any sense was as a tablet interface.

I did not use any "social networking" site. What did I need that for? I have a phone in my pocket with all my real friends phone numbers stored in it.

Just installed Mint here, and I have to say I am really enjoying KDE over the default Ubuntu environment.
Is there a non fucked up religion?
Hint, read my Sig for my opinion.
Right or wrong, drinking a bunch of water before bed seems to prevent hangovers for me.

Yeah, like any manager is going to know what to do with a .ODT
