While 4chan users may initiate DDOS attacks, 4chan itself does not operate any type of proxy, and therefore would not be an IP address to block. The fun thing about DDOS attacks that make it hard to fight is that they're "Distributed" and therefore cannot be shut off by turning off an IP or two. And trust me, They wouldn't shut off a full IP Prefix, as thousands of regular customers would get slammed as well.
I have a hard time believing a VPS with unlimited data transfer is that cheap.. but that's not a bad idea. You're probably looking minimum around $50/month though for closer to 100 gb transfer if you end up with windows.. I am going to seriously consider this.
I'm not indicating that I believe that "these days" are worse than any other time in history. I'm sure we're getting better as a species.. I just worry that some of us are coming up to speed faster than others, if parents are stunting the evolution of the mind of their children...
I've never met an idiot who didn't have at least one bad role model.
I'd say a majority of adults I've met don't exactly lead healthy balanced lives either. Most of the stress and anxiety that I see in people I meet is due to their inability to deal with issues and conflicts in their every day lives in a logically and emotionally balanced way (intentionality).
A lot of people spend their entire lives without ever understanding the idea of being intentional, instead of a victim to what appears to be a random array of emotions.
I just saw it last weekend, and I gotta say.. Science Fiction? Not much. Science Fantasy is more like it.
Just a few things threw me off. I loved most of the movie. And for a while I believed the blue people were spiritual in the same way humans were.. in ritual and what not...
But instead it turned out to be a magical spiritual world, and a collective thought borg of trees and animals.. and those that.. died?
A fantastic adventure, but really just lost me as a caring viewer. I prefer things to be more rational.
I've got to back you up on this one, since nobody agrees with you. I work as a computer technician, and I can say that sometimes I get smokers machines that fill my tech room with noxious smoker smell, as well as have a thick layer of tar over all the components. It's true, this really does happen. Albeit, not all smoker's pcs have this thick layer of tar, it does happen, and it's really gross.
How is "podcasting" any different than "shoutcasting"? I was doing shoutcasts back in the last century!
Podcasting is some retarded name for somebody posting normal old files online for downloading, and giving an RSS feed for software and mp3 players to play nice with the content.
Shoutcasting is an ongoing stream.. just plainly internet radio that continuously streams.
The reason I hate the distinction is that people make up fancy trendy names for what's little more than downloading files with a nice organization. Stop tying to patent how the internet works!
The use tax is actually for the buyer and determined by the buyer's state. If the buyer buys from tax-free new hampshire, and goes home to Massachusetts, they need to pay use-tax in MA.
If you purchased out of state or without paying sales tax, you have to report it directly. That being said, if you're purchasing within the state, the seller must collect the sales tax, and should be.
It's already the law in some states to report purchases that you have not paid sales tax on, called a Use Tax. If you purchase something and Amazon does not collect sales tax, you are supposed to report this directly and pay it directly to the government.
I think the real problem is that since nobody does this, they expect Amazon to do the legwork.
Realistically, it is a businesses' job to collect tax for the state it currently resides in. It would be an undue burden for just about any business to get the workings of every other state's tax just to do business, say, like a phone order!
Sure, amazon is big enough, but that still crushes the little guys with a hefty start-up capital requirement, and a full time tax guy to figure this out.
What they need is a disclaimer telling customers that they may need to report the use-tax, and give a hyperlink to more info on that.
It's actually quite brilliant. The technology won't catch on if it costs too much- but if it becomes pretty much a standard, MS just opened a brand new venue for games, it's like the 360 is brand new again.. giving them a steady new influx of cash before the next system is unveiled.
For the first time, I feel like MS is making a move on future planning, not just on a quick dollar today. Great move MS. I've always been surprised how well they market the 360 in comparison with the rest of their failures. Zune, anyone?
As a developer, I'm freakin excited. I hope it doesn't cost too much money.. or any at all. That's the reason I prefer Paypal for smaller projects over authorize.net.. save the monthly bills.
I had a friend who's daughter searched for 'kitten' and found some sick site where they mutilate cats. Several parents in different associations bombarded the host of the site and we got it shut down.
Yes, please, we should elect you to run the coalition of angry people for our rights.
Nobody on 4chan has money.. that plan is dead from the start. I say they just complain loudly until people ignore them, as per usual.

4chan does not attack anybody. Anonymous does.

That's ridiculous, that sounds like the combination to my luggage!
Hey! Nice to see someone from the old stomping grounds. I used to live in owego. How's the area?

The comment box should be embedded in the page, just at the very bottom of each post.
it's supposed to bring you to http://explaingod.blogspot.com/
I'm not sure how it looks in ie6, but in opera, and ie7 it appears to work. We'd be happy for you to join the discussion if you can
This might help you: http://dor.myflorida.com/dor/consumer/
Yup. I used to live in NY and we had taxes out the ass! The prudent yard sellers collected sales tax, though most people don't bother.
mcgrew, I invite you to join the discussion on my blog regarding god, you'd be most welcome. ;)

Damn! 4 in the morning is tough. Maybe I'll do it anyway.
I meant the marketing strategy.

No, we'd get pretty far, we'd all just end up speaking different languages at the end.

Discretion is great, and recommended. Without it, we don't expect many friends.
But your right to be angry ends at my right of the first amendment.
