Since its not a single player FPS, it doesn't really apply, but Team Fortress 2 is just that kind of fun. I was seriously looking forward to some great multiplayer on Duke, but the single player mode was not interesting to me in the least.
interstate or foreign commerce is what interests me here.
I live in CA. Say the server hosting the instant messenger/website is in CA. I say mean things to another resident in CA. Am I violating this proposed law?
Oh boy! New laws against things that are already against the law (Libel, Slander). That'll show em. After all, making murder a felony stopped that trend right in its tracks!
The wife and I were talking about that just yesterday. We both agreed that unfortunately based on the trailers that Star Trek has gone EXTREME!!!!1!one!1!. I hope that it is Paramount's marketing idiots that are just picking the exciting parts and making a Non-Trek fan trailer out of them, but based on J.J. Abrams other work, this movie may just be all hat and no cattle.
I love VirtualBox. I too ran Parallels and it absolutely sucks. Not to mention that VB has a free upgrade path, and Parallels will charge you for every new release.
GAMES GAMES GAMES. Until there is an open source DirectX OR game developers decide to use openGL, I will use Vista/Win7. Its not that I have any real affinity for Microsoft, but as long as they make the OS that my games run on, I'll use their OS.
I do use Linux on my servers, but that's where *NIX shines, why people still try to make it a desktop OS is beyond me.
Horse Armor
Add me to the folks who use Vista 64-bit with no complaints. Its as stable as my XP machine ever was.
I just wish more programs would be written in 64 bit code, I run 75% of my applications as x86.
Thats 12 million THEORETICAL dollars or vaporware.
A much harder choice if you ask me.

I thought I was the only person who bought Redneck Rampage. I loved that game.
Obviously we just need to install a Mr. Fusion on our space probes!
Its going to be said hundreds of times in this thread, but I'll say it anyway.
Nobody will pay for content that used to be free.
I'll miss WSJ.com but I'll get over it.

Thing is, we already have laws against harassment. This just makes it double secret probation if you happen to use a computer.
Are Hawaiian Republicans and Democrats across the isle from each other?
I have my 20 twitter accounts do it for me.

A goat ate my hat once.
No, you use cows to carry the goats to the field, and you get Gorillas to herd the cattle, then winter comes and the Gorillas freeze to death.
Circle of life.
Congratulations, you just helped me name my new band.
Watch for the hit new album from
"Goat Mass"
called
"sequestered in a salt mine"
Awesome reference. Unfortunately the humour has been mostly lost on the Yanks.
I likes the mint ones.
I always thought it looked like a soundstage in Burbank.

Yeah, but from the TNG era onward they were just "Space Vikings."
Dammit. I hate this keyboard. It should have been "CSMA/CD" But you all already knew that.
As has already been said: Security, Bandwidth, and of course the obvious advantages of CSMS/CD over CSMA/CA.

8/ Profit?
What would really shake up the market is another big player with deep pockets AND creativity to spare came up with a new IP.
Such as.. I don't know... Valve?
Sure they're famous for FPSs, but that doesn't mean they cant branch out. After all, Blizzard was famous for RTS before WoW.
Will it happen? Probably not.
