Count me among the folks who was initially resistant to the Awesomebar. I even went as far as downloading addons to turn it off (well the look of it at least). But strangely enough when 3.5 came out, I left it on, and now I find it quite useful.
Of course, in 3.5 I did have to re-edit my userChrome.css so that closing all tabs leaves the application window open.
oh well. I'll keep using FF until somebody builds a better ad blocker than adblock+ for Firefox. That's MY killer app.
I debated letting this go, but the geek in me was unable to.
In A New Hope the Death Star was destroyed by firing a proton torpedo into the thermal exhaust port, but in Return of the Jedi, the Hypermatter reactor at the core of the second Death Star was destroyed by the Millennium Falcon's much more powerful weapons, and was a direct hit.
It would have been better if EMI had said we can work it out. I'm sure he wouldn't mind being a day tripper or working 8 days a week. But now since that ruling yesterday, he may be thinking that happiness is a warm gun. Personally I know that money can't buy me love, but he may still need some help!
That makes sense, actually. My house last sold in 2007, and if the new code was passed in 2008, then I'd be the first owner to be required by the bank to have it compliant.
On a related note, I've since swapped the rest of the sockets out for GFCI, except for the garage, which is next on my list.
Interestingly enough, I was buying my house earlier this year and just as the negotiations were wrapping up, my Mortgage bank called me and told me that the previous owner would have to install GFCI outlets in the kitchen and bathrooms before they would finalize the loan. Even though my house was built in 1986 and had modern circuit breakers, my bank -- and as I understand it -- many others are beginning to make it a condition of the loan to have GFCI outlets. I'd assume that the law won't be far behind.
They do the same with movie scripts. I believe that the system is nicknamed "canary" or somesuch. Every copy of the document has a mistake or telltale sign that is personally identifiable to the person who was given it.
I object to it being used to keep this from the people of the World (and especially the US), but I have to respect the ingeniousness of the design.
Could this actually be the copyright law protecting the Inventors/Developers from a deep pocketed infringer? I'll reserve judgement, but if copyright law actually HELPS the people who put in the hard work.... wow.
Mother Simpson: [singing] How many roads must a man walk down before you can call him a man? Homer: Seven. Lisa: No, dad, it's a rhetorical question. Homer: OK, eight. Lisa: Dad, do you even know what "rhetorical" means? Homer: Do I know what "rhetorical" means?
For instance in the US, You can show grisly murders and torture and can safely count on a "R" rating. However numerous comedies and dramas who's only crime is using foul language will have to edit and re-edit just to avoid a NC-17 rating. The NC-17 rating of course is poison because no major chain will show it, even though if the rating were changed to "R" with no edits done, they'd be happy to show it.
You or I could do that. But remember that the iPhone's great success was that it brought "smartphones" to the masses. Most folks with an iPhone wouldn't know how to proxy even if you explained it to them. I'd say that if the app store became geographically locked, you'd see most Austrailian users just end up using the crippled AUS app store.
This seems mostly dependent on if Apple (and to a lesser extent, other Smartphone app publishers) will tell the AUS gov't to go soak its head or not.
Yeah.. I just STFA (skimmed the f'n article) and realized that. But my statement is still apt, I would not be bothered if a PRO-Prop 8 group posted my name.
No matter how you vote, you should be proud of what you vote for.
Womprat = 2m
Asteroid = 7m
If by not much bigger you mean nearly triple the size... then yes. It's not much bigger.
this has been you Star Wars nitpick of the day. Thank you.

Quantum Suicide is what the theory is called.
Oh, I hated the Colonel with his wee beady eyes, and that smug look on his face. "Oh, you're gonna buy my chicken! Ohhhhh!"

Thats when Maw and Paw had me go get a 'tater and just jam it on in there, hot circuit and everything.
Colloquialisms aside, It is a wonder I'm not dead.

Actually I believe that they rated the EU plug as a 0 (out of "infinity"), and a US plug as a 1 (out of 10).

Coming soon to a legislature near you:
Now the House will consider HR 666: The Baby Rape Ban and ACTA Ratification bill.
Peace Sells.. But Who's Buying?

Xerox PARC: So we invented this really handy user input device, want to see?
Apple: Sure!
Xerox: Promise you'll license it from us?
Apple: Of course!
Always always always get the NDA's and License Agreements signed before you show the goods off.

I keep seeing Chevy ads, that's why I bought an Airbus. If only I'd seen the Boeing ads instead.
What is preventing them from running region-relevant ads in other nations?
Proximus Primus Postus.
A Møøse once bit my sister...
But now you have to pay royalties to The Band.
Not if the ratings system is inherently flawed.

I'd mod you insightful if I hadn't already posted.
If this becomes law, you'll see a tenfold increase in his staffing and funding. This is of course his intention all along.
Anybody who doesn't get worried when they hear "it's to protect the children" isn't paying attention.
