Jesus Christ that sounds familiar. I got into trouble for doing science work during an english lesson where we were taking 5 weeks to read through Animal Farm, a book I finished the first evening we got it. Not to mention having to then go through the painfully obvious allegorys in it.
Well libel cases are civil matters so yes, like in the US, you typically won't get state aid to fight it.
I would say that we assume the person being libelled is innocent until proven guilty. If someone asserts I'm a kiddy fiddler I shouldn't have to prove this is false.
WTF, there are loads of native physicians in the UK, they are very well paid and they don't have Medical doctorates, they have a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery.
Its like planned obsolecence so the newer model can prosper.
And considering the story is about science I'd like to add this quote "Science advances one funeral at a time" Max Planck. Academia is bad enough now with older professors who are stuck in their ways, can you imagine how bad it'd be if they lived to 500!
In answer to your questions, a lot more native americans alive, the medival warm period becomes the medieval hot period, no good bagels anywhere on earth, and some things are just too ridiculous to even contemplate.
No it wasn't. Japan was allied with Britain in the first world war.
The treaty was actually very beneficial for Japan. As a one ocean navy they had 10 battle ships concentrated in the Pacific, the Americans (two ocean navy) had 15 but split between the Atlantic and Pacific. Britain has responsibilities all over the globe so it was even harder for us to concentrate our battleships (Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans and the Mediterranean sea).

I think you're mistaken. You can improve the yield of a fission bomb by using deuterium, and this has been partly the reason for improved efficiency in these sorts of weapons since 1945. But a proper hydrogen bomb does indeed get almost all its energy from fusion.

You can put some of your protein into a meal you're cooking right now, such as the famous cream of steve soup.
I'm pretty sure the probability of dying is the same for righthanded and lefthanded (1 in 1).
Most of it could belong to a new, independent Orkney Islands.
Well the US is good at two things, software and pizza delivery.
I'm sure a 5th grader could.

Except of course, you're wrong. Truth is a defence in English libel law. But don't let that stop your hysteria.

Thanks for sharing that, important to know.

This.

Maybe our evil socialist governments are better at negotiating than your glorious private healthcare.
A tradition first brought over in 1066 by William the Conker.

Indeed. No-one is more helplessly enslaved than someone who thinks he is free.
still better than the TSA.
Yes, but they did map the worlds oceans and let everyone else use them. So let's call it even.

There, fixed it for ya!
The michelson-morley experiment shows that its isotropic in the local environment (round the sun).
The truth of 'It's perfectly legal' probably varies quite a lot with jurisdiction.

Were you drunk the last 13 years?
But you can plagerise things that are released under the GPL.
