the biggest difference i noticed between normal admin and school admin, is that in a school, your worst users are actively trying to bypass your security and restrictions, and they can't be fired for it.
Why not a unified text messaging system?

I'm not sure what your point is... Because it's a public library, they should expect a warrant, or they shouldn't expect a warrant. Or a private library should or shouldn't expect one?
To me it doesn't really matter, it didn't matter to the FBI wanting to take the stuff without a warrant.
It may be considered that if everyone that subscribed to the ISP had to pay regardless of downloading music or not. But if only those that signed up to the p2p option had to pay the extra 4.95 or whatever it is, then no it wouldn't be.
Hell, I'd take a piracy tax on my blank media any day, if it means I can copy music. Since now that I have an ipod, i don't buy any blank media any more. Well, maybe a single 50 pack a year or so.
This is one of the reason I love terminal services on Windows. Have to patch 20 servers over the course of a week instead of patching 400 client PC's over the course of a year.
this is why the music companies have a problem with itunes. People don't have to buy the entire album to get a single or two, so the instead of spending $16+ for two songs, they are spending $1.98.
They are used to screwing people over with crap, so they can't see why people are fighting this.
Wow, Talk about redundant. Your single dvd +- drive can do all that. Plus, who really copies cd to cd anymore, I mean it takes a whole 2 minutes to copy the source disk to the HD and burn off that?
The only thing I could think of is that maybe it's reflecting the sun into a street or something.
I know there was a business where I used to live that had a sunporch area parallel to a highway and as certain times of the day it felt like you were driving into the damn sun. Dangerous.
The biggest problem is that hardware is the least of the cost for places. Software still needs to be licensed.
And for more that 20 people you aren't talking just one big server. Alot more big servers. We have 500 people in our company, we have thin client and have about 18 application servers to run them.
I am interested in what the device manager says, if he shows a shot of that, it would go a long way.
I don't think it's state-owned property, the state allows the corporations to retain ownership and just rent/lease it out to people as they see fit.
It's more of a rentocracy than anything.
They don't want to sell you a product, they want to sell you a service.

How is this any different than that?
Just different because we call it IM now?

Couldn't they have meant they don't have the infrastructure to get more, rather than ever being able to get more?
Considering it went back to windows 98, i don't think they anticipated the current computing climate at all.
This is one of the reason I love terminal services on Windows.

Is 0.44% a statistically significant number?
I.E. So of an average of 1,000,000 downloads, that means last month there were only 995600?
Seems like someone is reading alot into it.
It's actually the 528th anniversary of the Battle of Nancy when Burgundy became part of France.
Sober was written by Burgundish insurgents...

I know this is the UK, but don't you have a right to not incriminate yourself?
Like the 5th Amendment here in the US?
By labeling "intelligent design" as science.
When the label finally sticks, we'll be in the lead again. YAY!!!
Kansas will be the new MIT.
Metro? Thy production team be disbanded...
Because bittorrent users won't find you and pop a cap in your ass like organized crime sydicates tend to do.
I am sure they will listen intently on my next call to them.
Doing something anonymously doesn't mean it illegal.
It just means I don't want people all up in my sh*t.
Wanting anonymity doesn't necessarily mean your doing something illegal.
I just means I don't want people all up in my sh*t.
Although I kinda doubt any of these sites owners are going to run to the cops about it.

but they better bring Han back.
Or at least someone cool.
Someone that isn't all good or all evil.
Someone who isn't drive solely by the pursuit of the "force".
I want someone with normal problems. i.e. bill collectors, cool car that needs a tuneup, looking for women, etc.
