  1. but the PS2 outsold the new consoles on Nintendo's Sale Dominance Gets Noticed · · Score: 1, Interesting

I think a more telling story is that the PS2 is still selling more than all the "next-gen" consoles.

    280,000 vs 259,000

Although, I think the wii could trounce it if they could keep it on the shelves.

There are probably other things that will save us more energy, but nothing as simple as redoing something that everyone is familiar with anyway.

It's blowing smoke up joe public's ass so they don't have to bore him with meaningful ideas.

  3. Short sighted at best on Is Daylight Saving Shift Really Worth It? · · Score: 1, Insightful

The obvious answer is that congress needed an easy way to put something down on paper that they care about energy policy.
Was there any in depth hearings on it, any experts called in to testify on the change, any representatives from industries affected by this change, actual debate on the subject? As far as i can remember, it was no on all accounts.

Congress passes a law without knowing the full consequences, simply so they would have something to show in the 06 elections.

Anyone who voted on this is/was a god damn moron.

Or is that one million homes in the middle of summer when whole power grids collapse from the strain?

    Specifics please.

Hollywood thinks that if a movie does well, making a sequel and putting an obnoxious 9 year old to bring in the kid audience must make everything even better.

Lucas was one of the first to try this, with those god-damn Ewoks.
He just perfected it with Ep.1

But this project is facing major opposition from the local residents because of supposedly lower property value.
Funny thing about it, they don't want a windfarm ruining thier view, but they have no problem building a $500,000 house on a previously wooded hillside, and running the nice road up the side of the hill to drive there.

Kids still wear them too much, and listen to them too loud and unfortunately some still will have hearing loss.

It's not a "new" technology that is causing the problem, iPods didn't invent loud music.
It's kids not knowing about the volume control until it's too late.
