Odd. The only two sites I've run into in a long time that required flash -
Square-Enix has some sites. Oooh, "big" loss there. Oracle's support site that they just recently replaced - and there was a flash-free alternative that they tried to avoid telling people about.
Many video sites now have non-flash based players (H.264) too.
Honestly, flash isn't the big needed thing it once was. Hopefully it continues to fade into oblivion.
Actually, I think they call it GNU/Linux because the userland utilities that come with the kernel (i.e. bash, ls, cp, tar, etc.) are all the GNU built variants, rather than, for example, the BSD variants.
This is mostly, I believe, to appease the rabid RMS fanbois.
Adaptive equipment is generally very expensive expensive compared to non adaptive equipment of similar materials/complexity.
However, I'm curious, where the hell can you find a smart phone that doesn't have bluetooth? Heck, at this point, I would expect it to be a major challenge to find any cell phone less than 3-4 years old without bluetooth.
Regarding the detonating bit - even if there was an accident and the detonator were left on (we'll ignore malice for the moment), it'd be more likely to prevent the bomb from ever exploding "interestinglyl" without some serious extra work, than to make it accidentally explode. One of the things I learned in first year physics - in general, once uranium gets to critical mass or above, it explodes quickly, and without a lot of external pressure, set up "just right", the explosion won't be enough to do more than destroy a small room. In such an accident, the detonator (itself a bomb), would do more damage, I think.
It is possible - yes. But it would be, by no means, a "scalpel". There will be many in the ethnic group who lack the appropriately formed receptor, and many in the other groups that have it.
Probably more for the GP, but even so, many tools can be used for malevolent purposes, does that mean we shouldn't have them around for the good purposes? Do you think that just because someone came up with it for a benevolent purpose, if they hadn't nobody would have come up with it for a malevolent purpose later.
I eventually upgraded to a quad core process, more because I wanted to do mulit-core software dev than any other reason. I got the lowest power quad core I could find - 45W. At that point, the CPU uses more power than the entirety of my old K6-III
So, until I needed to, yeah, sticking with the "90s tech" was good because it saved me energy, and I got NO advantage from upgrading.
Actually, it was a BSD box. And no, I don't claim I was hosting a lot of crap. I didn't claim I had a lot of memory. You just made a lot of assumptions. I used it to rip flac files, sever a few web pages (that only about a dozen people used), some development, and for some network file storage. A 386 would have been fine if I could get my hands on it, but the nice part about that system was the WHOLE computer used not much more energy than a modern "low energy" cpu used.
I use WMaker in Cygwin, for example, which I don't believe could properly run XFCE. Not familiar with LXDE. Mostly it is simple, quiet, and stays out of the way. I wouldn't mind an improvement for the interface of the desktop switcher widget, but aside from that, when you want something more than twm, but xfce is too big, WM is a nice middle ground.
Prior to upgrading the hardware (2-3 years ago?), I had an old K6-III for my server, and Window Maker was awesome on it. I still use it for the VNC attachable desktop I have running in the background to keep all my projects open so I don't have to restart my apps each time I log in. I don't need anything that lightweight any more, but, it gets the job done well, and doesn't crap out in the VNC "box" like KDE or Gnome.
I think by gray water, he meant partially treated sewage water.
And, so long as the toxic stuff was clean out, maybe.
The problems with the bacterial and fungal contaminants would still be present, and even if they were initially cleaned out, some new stuff would get in and grow - it's a good growth medium. Care would have to be used.
I'm talking across every industry. Their computer support is atrocious, as you mentioned so is playstation (hardware or software), guessing they aren't great in any other department.
SO, people publishing things on the internet should do it out of charity and the good of their hearts? They should put huge amounts of work in to provide you with information/news/services, for the warm squishy feeling it provides them.
In some cases, that works, in most, not so much, they need some kind of financial compensation to keep their sites up.
That being said, as someone put it, not everyone will use adblockers. Also, as not state, some people will only use them to block the more intrusive/offensive ads.
They may be afraid of some other 3rd party, and be using Samsung (as a perceived easier target) to form the precedent, prior to going after the party they are afraid of.
Not really, Apple makes money on selling hardware, but part of being able to sell that hardware is the software they develop for it, that will either (a) only run on it or (b) won't run nearly as well on other platforms.
So, yes, their profit comes directly from the hardware, but the software is a huge part of the marketing, which is what gets people to buy it (and thus, is an important indirect factor in getting that profit, easily matching the importance of the hardware)
I think the only way to get a grouping of people that doesn't have members that have been murdered by the Mexican Mafia, is to make the group "People who haven't been murdered by the Mexican Mafia."

Newer versions of firefox can even watch Youtube videos without flash...
So, overall, I don't think I'm missing anything without flash on my computer, except a lot of stuff I'd rather miss anyway.

That's perfect for blind people surfing for porn!
What, it keeps the other hand free, doesn't it?

One of the reasons I have a smart phone with a hardware keyboard.
Hardware keyboard <3

The CPU on that machine used 12.5W power.

Actually, it would run Windows 2000 quite well, and XP pretty decently.

XFCE can be used as a DE. Admittedly it is a very minimalistic DE, but it still gets the job done.
XFCE is a gorilla compared to window maker.

Dude, Window Maker is awesome as a light weight desktop system. 3
Aside from compatibility improvements, I say don't fix what isn't broken.
Of course not, if you aren't that far up the ladder, how could your grandfather be?
I think by gray water, he meant partially treated sewage water.

I think the idea is that business could restrict who could use their outlets (and possibly monitor which employees are using how much power).
I'm talking across every industry. Their computer support is atrocious, as you mentioned so is playstation (hardware or software), guessing they aren't great in any other department.

Apple is not a software company. Apple is a Marketing company that has software and hardware tied for second place.
Still, they put more focus on doing those things right than Sony does.
Also, Sony seriously needs to improve their customer service, being on top of the 'worst in the business' pile is NOT the top of the pile you want.
I think the only way to get a grouping of people that doesn't have members that have been murdered by the Mexican Mafia, is to make the group "People who haven't been murdered by the Mexican Mafia."
Aye. And how is bundling Flash an advantage to security? Does it somehow provide security over not having it installed at all?
