Maybe, but who would pay for Windows 7 just to get the latest version of IE? Aside from IT departments that use business applications, the people who are most likely to care or know about installing the latest version of IE could just as easily get something else.
In Peru, there's pretty much no market for "original" CD's or DVD's. No one wants to pay full price for a movie, when there's people in every marketplace selling movies for $1.50. I knew someone who made a living selling burned DVD's - he got them from a place called Polvos Azules, practically for free. There's a place called Wilson that builds custom computers with cheap components. They preload Windows XP SP2 and loads of software that costs a lot in the US. A lot of people have PS2's and get them modded to be able to play "pirated" games and DVD's. You won't find shrink wrapped anything there. Everyone either knows how to circumvent the anti-piracy measures, or knows someone who does it for cheap.
Personally, I would rather see people in Peru encouraged to develop their own media. Instead of being reliant on the US for software and stuff, they could write their own solutions. In a nationalistic country like every one in South America, it would be easier for the people to support developers in their own country. I'd like to see them put their resourcefulness into writing new code. It would certainly be interesting.
The upgrade costs less, but not enough that upgrading through all those versions would be cheaper than just a Windows 7 license. IIRC, the 7 upgrade disc only works with Vista.
Well, Thomas Jefferson has something like that. There's a foundation that's in charge of the historical site (Monticello) that handles all the IP nonsense surrounding the house. Then, a few years ago, his descendants made a huge scandal over whether they were going to recognize the children of Sally Hemmings as "legitimate" descendants. Maybe it isn't exactly the same, but it doesn't seem to be too much of a stretch.
If you're really serious about putting Mary Kate and Ashley's head on Lindsay Lohan and Amy Winehouse's bodies, like it says in TFS, you'd use RAW. Then, you can compress everything together. Besides, if you upload that to photo sharing websites (especially Facebook) there's a high chance your picture would be recompressed, so it would have the compression artifacts whether it's been altered or not.
It'll be interesting to see how they pull this off, and how it works with web standards.
... Or you could just run something different.

The only problem is, Kno isn't making tablets anymore.
Why do you have a phone, then?
Mod grandparent down - that's goatse.
... if there was a real shooter, and it still said BUILDING NAME/INTERSECTION. Thanks for the heads up, morons!
There used to be something like that for Palm devices. You could pass your card to another Palm via infra red signal. It was pretty convenient.
So now there will be Linux Apache Drizzle Php servers? Just classy.
Does anybody else think the amount of money he received is interesting?
Apple already announced an app store for their desktop computers. With OS X Lion, they're making it look a whole lot more like the iPhone/iPad.

No, Canonical is.
Are you sure you weren't reading /b/?
Even still, if people would just stop using IE6, it would suddenly be 200 times easier to develop for the web.

Maybe it's just me, but doesn't it seem like 100 degree aisles wouldn't be particularly server-friendly either? Just my $.02
No, it turns him into the Joker.
The problem is some DRM restricts printing (either no printing, or there's a page limit). This could be circumvented using Print Screen.
"If not for XXX, life would not exist on Earth."
If not for hardcore?

If it's coming from Sony, I'm not sure it would be particularly suitable for a standard. There's probably half a dozen potential patents there.

Fail.
No playing hookie to get out of school. Do not want.
"I wonder if anybody over 20 even understand the references to it." I'm 21 and I understand it just fine. Now get off my lawn!
