Does UK law cover "sexual harassment"? Employers in the USA have to worry about defending themselves against claims of sexual harassment, which can be quite broadly construed, even when a customer is the source of the alleged harassment. Anything that someone, somewhere, finds offensive, can be evidence of a "hostile work environment".

Electrolytic capacitors degrade over time, especially if the device is never turned on. They will be in terrible condition after 25 years. I've seen them cause problems in devices that were in storage for just a few years. When people restore old hi-fi and radio equipment, they usually have to replace all of the electrolytic capacitors.

Plastic and rubber parts are another problem. Many of them disintegrate after several decades. This is a common problem in old calculators and computers. The capstan wheels used in their card readers and tape drives have to be rebuilt or replaced.

The technology can get complicated. Much of today's parachute technology was originally developed in the 1950s to help deliver nuclear weapons by aircraft. The parachute slowed the descent of the weapon from supersonic speeds and could be used to gently (relatively) lay the weapon on the ground, where it would sit until detonated by a timer. Conventional parachutes were useless. They would just disintegrate when opened.
