Okay, perhaps not the most ruthless.. but you gotta admit.. he's one of them "The end justifies the mean" types of guys.. as long as he gets what he wants, I don't think he cares how it happens.
Who better than Bill Gates, to be named man of the century. This is a person who be looked upon by future generations as the leader of the most ruthless, cutthroat and monopolistic company of the 20th century..

So, are you going to not purchase Quake3 just because it tells id what kind of video card you have? Talk about being paranoid. I personally could care less about information being sent to some company via their software. If Real knows what songs I listen to, does that make a big difference? If seeing what video cards the people that buy Quake 3 use, perhaps it will allow them to make a better product, if not one person is using a archaic piece of crap video card, then they won't have to add support for it in later games. It's not really invasive as long as it doesn't stray from stuff like your hardware.. Their not going to call you up and laugh at you because you still have a VooDoo 1 and your trying to play Q3A.. Cut the paranoia crap..
Perhaps the music was the guy's own.. it wouldn't be a copyright infringement if the guy made the music himself.. although, that does seem rather strange.. it had like "Phils(?) Music" and we can assume that Phil(?) was the dancer..
Yep, DIVX sucks the left nut... even if it was still alive, if it ever hit mass market, there would be people who would 'circumvent' whatever security it had.. trust me.. there are very few ways to protect something these days..
I have to agree with you on that, since the release of that one program ("Insert Turntable Mixing Program Name Here") I saw BeOS mentioned in several places that had nothing to do with computers.. Actual newspapers... It was amazing, albeit tiny article about the program, they misspelt BeOS though, those morons....
I agree with you, BeOS really does what it's supposed to well.
The fact that R4 is only the Second version of the BeOS that works on X86. The fact that it doesn't have drivers is really its downpoint though. I have a SB Live, and because there is no support yet, I hardly go into BeOS.
But, Genki will change that, R4.5 should have 3dfx support, more drivers. etc..
I can just see this now..

that's so true, who really watches the WB anyways? its like the black hole of the entertainment field.
386BSD perhaps?
At one point I thought it was
"low-fight" but somewheres I remember it being said as "loft" which would make more sense as
L=L
0=O
PH=F
T=T
LOFT
This is like saying that if I developed a way to destroy a car with relative ease, the auto manufacturer would be at fault.
This is total crap, in my opinion.

Gee, now when the ASIO decides to 'alter' data on your computer, you'll get charged for it. Gotta love it.

There's this program out now by Visiosonic called
"Digital 1200SL".. and gee, doesn't that remind you of a certain brand of turntables..
i'm sticking to my 1200's too

Alberta is the best province..
Well, they do have BeBoxes... but I don't think they make them.. I want a BeBox.. it'd be.. well, phearable...
Yep, DIVX sucks the left nut... even if it was still alive, if it ever hit mass market, there would be people who would 'circumvent' whatever security it had.. trust me.. there are very few ways to protect something these days..
so they patented it before they had a player? I think i'm going to patent a Teleportation Device, Regardless of Form or Compression Type!

Phear my awesome Sinclair... or how about my Commadore 64, Hell, I have an Apple 2E in my basement, or how about my Amiga?
They are not suing because winamp can play illegal mp3s, they are suing because they made the AMP decoder which WinAMP used for a while up to 2.20.

Ok, its pretty cool.. but I want drivers for BeOS.
That my friends, is another reason to switch to the power that is: BeOS.
I don't use BeOS all the time, because I cashed in for a SBlive.. and there is no Sound Drivers yet.. 3 week of april.. and i'm in beos all the time.
Hopefully Bochs is speed up, or Bewine is created.
