Actually, one of the predesecors(sp?) was a garbage truck, that ran on UPC/Barcodes, if you wanted it to go forward and then left, you showed it a particular barcode, it was primitive and simple but it was before the mindstorms RCX block.
Thats insane, if you worked at "Mondo Computer Design Inc." or something else, and they forced you to sign this so you could work there, and you make the "Super Dooper Electric Tooth Brush 3000" on your own personal time and resources, you should get the fruit of the work. Not the big faceless company that forces you to give it over.
I can see it now, a company is created devoted entirely of making furniture out of Lego because other Nerds will start asking for Lego Desks, and why not a fully adjustable lego chair? You could save money by ordering bulk directly from Lego. The possibilities for things made out of lego is endless, Legoland is a great example. Me, personally i'm waiting for a car that is built entirely out of lego. Entirely, the engine and all, of course it wouldn't be a internal combustion engine, but a nice electric one would be interesting.
Wow, one could get a very complicated system going on here. Some of the model railroads i've seen are incredibly detailed, and IIRC some even use Steam Locomotives. I always thought that it was just the rail was electrified and you could only change the direction of the Train only. But that signal modulation thing sounds quite spiffy, I might just have to look into that.
Some games have taken a rather unoriginal genre basis and turned into a great game, System Shock 2 and Deus Ex are a thinking mans Doom. SS2 is one of those few games that really frightens you, you hesitate to open doors for fear of what might be on the other side. Dungeon Keeper was a excellent take on RTS, I mean a Dungeon Simulation, only from the people at Bullfrog. Another quite interesting game i've been playing lately is MindRover, a very addicting game that makes you think, alot. Half-Life showed what could be accomplished with a FPS if done correctly, and all the modifications that are based on it make it a delightful game to play (mmmm... Counterstrike). Team Fortress 2 will rock the socks off of everyone, it'll be a great game (hopefully, but the boys at Valve have yet to let us down). There's also some pretty interesting games out on the horizon, like Black and White and Halo (provided Microsoft doesn't give us the shaft).
Flight Sims and War Games might be dying off now, but they've always had a dedicated fan base. People who like to blow things up from a Falcon will continue to do so, and companies that don't cash in on this are losing money.
I'm not sure if this is a wise decision, they have only one product to speak of, and the market seems weary of new tech stocks. Although, they actually have a product, unlike some IPO's which are based on vaporare entirely. Some of those are now collasping. It'd be great to see Transmeta stock soar and make some more millionaires out of some humble linux folk.
IIRC Star Wars: ANH's working title was 'Star Killer'.. Episode 2 will be even more cloaked in secrecy than Episode 1 was.. but Episode 3 will be the end all of lines. People will take months off from work just to camp out, because it is the 'last' star wars film. Unless Lucas decides to scrap it all instead for a Howard the Duck sequel *shudder*.
Ahhh.. Joe-Jim.. that was a real good novel. It really does make you think, that if you're born inside a spaceship like that, how would you know that there is an outside?
That could work quite well, but couldn't it also make it slower, especially if you were behind a wall or something and move and it had to render a whole assload of textures quickly? I don't quite understand the innerworkerings of a video card, so call me ignorant if need be.
Even if ASUS decides to not make these Drivers.. you know someone else will decide too, and because its done on the Video Card itself there is nothing that can be done with the software, outside of checking if these specially modified drivers are installed. Even if that happens, they modify the drivers.. and so on. But still, just because you can see through a wall doesn't make you Thresh, you can't see behind you, and odds are some other lamer can see you. This does not bode well for the online gaming community, this is all fine and dandy if your playing single player. But if you go on, and rack up the kills because not everyone else can see through the walls. There has to be some way of preventing people from doing this.
A search on IMDB results in this Mononoke Hime(?) Also Known As: Princess Mononoke (1999) (USA: US version) Interesting Cast as well..
Billy Crudup.... Ashitaka (English version) Claire Danes.... San (English version) Minnie Driver.... Lady Eboshi (English version) Billy Bob Thornton.... Jigo (English version) John DeMita.... Kohroko (English version)
"On a journey to find the cure for a Tatarigami's curse, Ashitaka finds himself in the middle of a war between the forest and Tataraba, a mining colony. In this quest he also meets San, the Mononoke Hime"
Its not as if they knew it was a fraud and decided to post it anyways. They found out later that the story 'could' be a fake. I agree with MacJunkie that it looks like a fraud, but who knows. Maybe Apple will see it, and decide to scrap the old design. Thus making it true. Who knows. It came from a reputable source. It should get the benefit of the doubt.

I'm not sure, but last time I checked AOL and Time Warner didn't have too much influence in Europe.

Isn't that just slightly dangerous? I mean, I've always been one of those people who avoids putting metal in a microwave.

Corel. Corel has/had a lot invested in Linux. Their CEO resigned, and they're on pretty shaky ground right now.

I don't think so, otherwise they would've been able to reach their destination in mere hours instead of the damn long time it took them.
