I don't see how the first factor is a wash? They either pay dividends or they don't. And from what I know they don't, so running ads doesn't have anything to do with it.
It doesn't use the term "non-commercial", it says "(1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;".
I don't see that it matters how they are suppored, ads or donations, it's nonprofit.
He sold 1.6% of his company to Microsoft for $240M. So he's got some cash on hand and could go public tomorrow. I agree this is a little premature, but just because I haven't sold my personal holdings for gold doesn't mean I'm not worth anything. Sure he's a little less liquid because his stock isn't publicly traded yet, but he's still a Billionaire.
They included a pen and notepad for an address book. Let's not get too serious about this, it was created by an ad agency. Just let them enjoy their free slashvertisement ok?
Who are you to say what is in the best interest of that community? Shouldn't they be allowed the make their own choices? The fire department kept the fire from growing. Nothing happened to his neighbor's house becuase the fire dept kept the fire under control, apparently by watering the fence between the houses. But yes, the neighbor would have the right to be irate if anything happened to his house.
There must have been one of your friends sitting next to me at the movies last weekend because they were checking their phone pretty frequently. How updated do they need to be? Are they updated each centimeter of dialation?
Im about to sell my old G1 to a guy on craiglist for $80, with all the email I got it's clear I could have got closer to $100. I paid $200 for it new over 2 years ago. A month ago I bought the new Samsung Galaxy to replace my G1 for $150 online, which it's clear I'll be very happy to own for a year or two. So the difference there out of pocket is $70, nothing im going to lose my sanity over.
However I agree with you on the monthly bill they stick you with but I rely so much on mobile web at this point I wouldn't want to go without it.
It looks at all their services, and I have used many of them in the past, and some as recent as last year: mail, flickr, del.icio.us, yahoo sports (fantasy football), answers, and geocities. But I can't say I do anymore, maybe I've viewed a few photos on flickr or reviewed a yahoo answer...
There are a few of us who know what you are going through. We meet up in my mom's basement. You are welcome to join us. There is soda and chips and wifi...
I mostly agree, but I think this is more of a cover your ass type situation. Let's face it, half the workers of a company will have less than average performance. A handful of these people will be on the chopping block for next time they screw up. So next time you are even 5 minutes late and there are some photos online of you out drinking the night before could be grounds for termination. So sure, for most it's normal behavior, but if you are one of the ones just sqeaking by then it becomes a convenient excuse for the company.
Bottom line is when I click on an ad, the person who's page I go to knows I am a Male between 18-35. Google provides this service.
Do you think when you click on a Google ad, Google doesn't let their partner know anything about who clicked their ad?
Yes, until they are able to hit eachother with things (and us I suppose), who cares! /sarcasm

I consider a torrent seed file a kickass piece of software.
It won't even get that far. I'm guessing the people that keep breathalyzers out of cars will take care of it.

But but but our privacy standards are decreasing to make us safer! Terrorists! Chinese! ahhhh!
Declare war on Mars!
please, if there was ever a time to RTFA (and there isn't), this would be it

Oh good, I see the trolls who start the email chains that my dad then spams me with have made it to slashdot...

PS I hope your friend is healthy.
Editing out context or timelines can be done. Editing in that amount of douchery can not.

$750 x 5,000 = $3.75 Million. Not too bad still. That'll re-coup a quarter of the production costs.
Maybe he just realized how much he has given away.
4 years ago today we lost her... anniversarys are hard.

If it lights a fire under both their asses to get to the market at an affordable price, who cares?

As long as they make all the bad guys brown and the good guys white it should get the Fox News official approval.
