    I forgot to mention that the addresses were not actually proven to have a TV, they were addresses who did not purchase a license. So you could find yourself up on a board having done *nothing at all*

    It's propaganda, most of the vans are decoys for scaring people.

    A while back there was a poster campaign here. Billboards went up with lists of addresses in the local area printed in 2ft high lettering of who hadn't paid their TV license fee.

    I *really* wanted my address on one but alas no.

    We have to pay for our water here (UK), and I imagine most people reading this will pay a similar levy.

    All well and good, it costs money to process the water for consumption.

    But it is mandated that *all* precipitation belongs to the state.
    You cannot (legally) collect water for drinking yourself.

    I was a long time EQ subscriber and DAOC subscriber. I've seen expansion pack after expansion pack come along. It's $40 for hours and hours of content (if it's any good :)

    Apologies if you're retarded or something but ffs can't you read. You, like so many people, are so insecure in the world that the ability to discern observation from complaint seems lacking. Too bad for you, without observation there is no learning.

    The poster was alluding to the ubiquity of Flash and that making a website with flash was fine because it was supported by *all* major borwsers. This plainly is a falsehood, my FreeBSD desktop is proof of this, in and of itself.

    The last thing I would do is bitch about lack of Flash on my chosen platforms, I'm fucking ecstatic about it.

    There is enough variety and yet just enough repetition of the on-click phrases.

    There should be no such thing as tabbed browsing, window management is the job of the window manager. But now loads of applications are bloating from adding tabbed window support, making them less portable, more buggy and less secure with every line of code.

    You are casting yourself as the subject.

    Took their women, implies a they to whom the women are subjugate.

    Thus it is the "they" that are affected.

    "She is your girlfriend" : the speaker gives "you" higher status than "she" for the context of the story.

    And so it is with "their women". "They" are afforded higher status than the "women".

    This is the institutionalisation of sexism. Shine enlightenment into these dark corners and you may be suprised what you will see.

    it's the "their" not the "took"

    "their women" implies that the women were property but not by opinion of the contemporaries but that the speaker considers that to be the case.
