Nope, it's a little known fact, but in addition to the Reality Distortion Field, Jobs also emits particles of pure hate, materialized into existence by his loathing of ambient noise and ginormous ego. These particles, called "hatrons", produce a sort of white noise effect when interacting with Apple-brand computers and make them run quite silently.
I've never understood that rule - pointing out weaknesses gets YOU no points, it might remove his, but you won't win unless you can actually out-argue one of his points rather than just discrediting them
I looked over his bookshelf and found a surprising number of really high-quality texts on C++, which he told me he'd found laying around MacLean Hall or which someone was throwing away, or whatever.
Looks like the new David Brent is Steve Carell from The Daily Show.
Carell is a very funny guy. We'll see if he can pull of Brent's character.
I think the major challenge in bringing series like Coupling and The Office to the US is the fact that they have to crank out 22 episodes in the US. You won't find a bigger fan of The Office that I, but doing 6 episodes a year is just a different animal and the quality would be bound to suffer if they had to do a full US season. I wish the networks in the US would try more short run series. I think they would find they would be very successful. HBO and Showtime have sure had success with 12-14 episode seasons.
Yeah, but the already know that they have X viewers. If some fraction of X signs the petition, that still doesn't give them any incentive to change their mind.
But what if the cursor in your new window is nowhere near where you want to paste the text? Now you're using the arrow keys or whatever to get the cursor to the right spot to paste. While with the mouse you can put the cursor where you want it much faster, especially on a large file.
While he clearly isn't reluctant to place some of the blame on America for it's role in creating this hostile reaction, he looks to be ready to enlist and join the fight:
"And I'm already weary of hearing the attack called `cowardly' and `terrorism.' It was a well-planned military strike, and it was carried out with courage and boldness. We face a brave and determined and clever enemy, and we are at war. `Cowardly terrorism' is dealt with by law enforcement agencies and the courts. Acts of war are dealt with by military force directed against our enemies and all who shelter them. And our enemies are not just the specific terrorists that carried out this attack, but all the terrorist groups that would have done it if they had had either the wit or the resources to do it. "We must wage concerted and relentless war against all the terrorists who have struck at America and its allies, and against all the nations that fund and harbor them, until there is no nation that dares to support terrorists. Anything less than such a war is a recipe for further attacks down the road. And if we do not plunge whole-heartedly into such a sustained and thorough war all at once, but instead escalate gradually, the war will take far longer and cost us far more in lives and other sacrifices.
In everything Microsoft does it has, number 1, it's own interests in mind. 2, it's shareholders, 3 it's employees, then somewhere down the line they have my interests in mind...
And how would they be different from any public Linux company?
So you are going to protest somebody wasting your time with junk mail by spending a _lot_ more time than it takes to just throw it away on an elaborate "scheme" to get back at them?
Man, your time must be pretty valauable...
I'll bet you are also the type of guy to drive around for 10 minutes trying to find a parking space close to your destination when you could have parked further away and been there in half the time.
So Microsoft is charging $50 for a piece of software. Then their taxes increase, so they raise the price to $60 to cover it.
Question: Why didn't they raise the price to $60 before the tax increase? Were they just being nice?
Answer: They were charging $50 because they thought that was the price that they could maximize their revenue and profits. The costs of the software and the taxes don't enter into the price point determination.
No kidding. The UDB is superior to Oracle in just about every way. I think IBM has to break through this Oracle "paradigm" that is prevalent in some business sectors. It is a great product.
Yeah, when I use Ubuntu I think of his Mom, too.
God you're a wanker...

Exhibit #1 - The Democratic Party
I looked over his bookshelf and found a surprising number of really high-quality texts on C++, which he told me he'd found laying around MacLean Hall or which someone was throwing away, or whatever.
He probably stole those, too.
Europe has successfully prosecuted more Al Quida than the US.
That's most likely because the US ummmm...just kills them.
That's fine, then you pay with paypall like I did. Paid $10 and have downloaded over 10 albums already.
The Paypal payment option has been "temporarily out of service" on allofmp3.com for at least the last 6 weeks.
Was it also part of his job to spy on his wife?

It's funnier if you imagine the writer narrating it in a high-pitched chipmunk voice...
Alvin!!!!
Yeah, good ol' AC. What a loyal friend. First he gives him a ride in his Bronco, and now he honors OJ by naming a programming language after him.
Will the giving ever stop?
What did this guy ever do to you?
Actually, my favorite Entwistle tune seems more appropriate...
Heaven and Hell
On top of the sky is a place where you go if you've done nothing wrong,
If you've done nothing wrong.
And down in the ground is a place where you go if you've been a bad boy,
If you've been a bad boy.
Why can't we have eternal life,
And never die,
Never die?
In the place up above you grow feather wings and you fly round and round,
With a harp singing hymns.
And down in the ground you grow horns and a tail and you carry a fork,
And burn away.
Why can't we have eternal life, And never die,
Never die?
I know you were a bad boy, John, but I think we know where you are...

The problem is X is too small for them.
Yeah, its just the hot chicks. Not the quality writing and acting.

Well, I think Mr. Card apparently has had a bit of a change of heart...

Earth can take care of itself I think, *shrugs*
Nobody said anything about the Earth not surviving. Of course the Earth will still be around. It's the humans that are going to have the problem...
