First link is very reminiscent of an old PC game.
"Out of this world" aka "Another World" Here is a capture of the game.
I think the first game I ever completed, extremely well written and an incredibly good graphic adventure, considering you played using only with about 6 keys in total.
will likely have been watching our radio/tv/digital output
As far as they know we may have discover they were listening. Since we are changing our way of communicating from an easy-to-decode-analog-system to digital.
Even a not encrypted digital transmission uses compression, and coding standards that are not easy to decode when you don't have the specs or are not sure what to look for (think of an alien receiving a data stream with a movie encoded in Xvid... including all of the UDP or TCP/IP headers, etc.).
So by changing our ways to digital, we are hiding ourselves from the aliens
We should be expecting a visit from Omicron Persei 8, any time now, asking what happened at the end with "Single Female Lawyer".
Yeah... and I'm sure we will end up signing a stupid treaty that does not allow us to use the cloak device, but let them use it at will.
it's time to put some clear boundaries between us and them... better yet a Neutral Zone.
Anyone else is having nightmares with this news? Imagine being 20 years locked down inside your body... I guess I would be begging for someone to pull the plug.
I think ChromeOS will be very useful as a second boot choice, when you are in a hurry (airport, hotspot, whatever) and need some info on the internet quick. Just turn on your netbook and get your info in a few seconds. To do the real job you have the OS of your choice as the primary boot (Linux or Windows)
I know, I know, you can always use hibernation and be also ready in a few more seconds, but note every note(net)book likes the hibernation.
In Chile this has been open for several years, 31% of population today has broadband access, not bad for a developing country.
For my home I can choose form several providers (also between two TV-Cable operators, apart from satellite, but that's another topic) . I pay around $28 for 3Mbps. and can go from 1Mbps for US$11 up to 10Mbps for US$70.... or FTTH for US$OMG!!
Competition is always good to the final user. (almost everybody advertises NO blocking or NO P2P restrictions... it's to easy to change to the competitor)
Just to let you know.
Chile:
Diesel: 0.76/L
95 Octane: 1/L
at current exchange rate ... about 2.88/g and 3.79/g respectively... if I'm using the correct Gallon:-)
What about the octanes... in USA I've seen about 83, 85 and 87 (?)... here we use 93, 95 and 97, it doesn't have anything to do with the metric system, as the units are the same. any ideas on the possible reasons for these differences?
Because diesels require more compression, the engines are built stronger so last much, much longer than gas
Also, because of this, they get to same speed with less rpm than a gas engine... lasting ever longer.
I'm a proud owner of a 2.0 liter CRDi Hyundai Tucson.... very responsive, and way more economic than my other car (Daewoo Nubira, 1.6 L)
Don't know anything about mpg, as I am used to Kilometers per liter:-P. (near 19 on the Hyundai and 16 on the Daewoo)

Here is the proof!
in English and Spanish (more complete)
Don't argue with me about Wikipedia not being the total truth.
Never ever install anything that comes out on April 1st.
Don't be a fool!!

Just my two pesos-

Anyhing with "Wolowitz" in it's name?
It just doesn't sound right.
Well... not so "dark" as the CIA, but still a government related agency.
Are their HQ located in the midwest BTW?
I dont' like to reply to myself...but... wasn't J. Edgar Hoover related to the creation of the CIA?
:-)
Just 2 cents thrown away by a chilean.
So... nobody else thought that the so called "Midwest vacuum cleaner manufacturer" could be a cover for the CIA or NHS?

, but it is safe to say Cabeus holds water
Or, maybe it did hold water... until the impact.
mmmm...
But how do I know you haven't already sold that to someone else?
see... see... I'm not falling to your scam.
Well... the Wii is not much more than a "refurbished" Nintendo Cube ...
so one can argue that it was in reality just a peripheral introduction.
My 2 cents.

oops!
Godwin's law
Wow! a complete profit plan!!! I don't remember ever seeing one on /.
No "..." stage. Outstanding! Let's do it.
Way better than Youtube, you can upload your crappy videos... and get paid!!
I'm sure that, with this business model, TBP will take the Napster way to oblivion.
Also,
CRD or CRDi = Common Rail Diesel (intercooler). modern variant of direct fuel injection system for petrol and diesel engines.
