All the code converted/created for this new XO could be used to fuel the ARM ecosystem. Thus, people will stop depending on the x86 architecture (which will hurt both AMD and Intel).
Offtopic: Negroponte is an idiot.
OK, I'm not trying to troll, but why would one have a PDA if you can have a smartphone? If you don't want to be bothered, you can always enable the airplane mode.
You don't understand emerging markets. I have installed WinXP Pro on several Starter computers because they couldn't do "what they wanted."
Needless to say, those XP Pros were copies. Not only they didn't feel guilty, they even thanked me a lot.
Also, nowadays computers are not ENIAC-ly priced. I don't know where you got that idea (about emerging markets which can "barely" afford computers).
Today I was cracking a Sony App (Oh, come on, it's not a sin if it's Sony!) and I thought "I must be part of the 1% that likes the tunes in the cracking softwares."
If pedophiles will get in jail whether they are looking at real CP or drawings depicting children, then why would they bother with fiction?
I believe this can only bring a higher consumption of real 3D child porn.
I still remember that KB article in which it was stated that the Xbox doesn't damage discs. Imagine the kind of conversations I had when I told the guy on the other end that he must have moved the console while it read the disc.
So yeah, basically I had to tell them that they were wrong, even though, of course, they weren't. Those kind of calls usually got escalated to a Tier 2 agent (what you guys call "a supervisor").
What if your mouse is replaced with a secondary multitouch-screen? You don't have to "reach" for anything: it would be on the desk.
I'll admit it, though. I think a mouse would be much more comfortable than a touchpad/screen.
How is the Latinamerican mentality any different from the American one? You mean every person in the US of A is a Linux kernel hacker?
Come on. It's not about the "click mentality." It's about what makes things run faster an easily. KDE has Ktorrent, so the torrent part you mention is even easier in Linux! (Not to mention a lot of other clients).
BTW, I'm Latinamerican too:3
ja.wikipedia also states that Midori, as a word describing the green color, didn't exist, and the word "Aoi" (blue) was used instead. It was the same in the Maya culture.
That's why you refer to a traffic light or vegetables as being "aoi", instead of "midori."
But I guess MS just tried to name it "Green", without any other connotation.
Help me out with this, pal.
I used to go a lot to the arcades and play DDR and Pump it up (a Korean knock-off). Problem is, I grew older, there's not an arcade near home/work and, frankly, I don't want to stand in line to work out a couple of minutes.
So I tried some of those DDR "mats", but they are all slippery and can't compare with the sturdiness of the arcade version
So, is there a bulky, official DDR mat? Mind you, I don't live in the states, so that could (will) be a problem. BTW, the only console I have is a Wii. It's modchipped, so I can get a Japanese version, if there is one.
I would go with optical + magnetic (redundancy) swapping the media every 5 years and keeping the previous ones. Having flash based storage would also help.
Sure, you'll have craploads of media, but who cares? Those memories are probably much more valuable than the cost of the media itself and that of storing it.
Well, that's the reason why the last Creative product that I bought was a SB16. And I'm not joking
(OK, i got a SBAWE64 from a trash bin, but that's a different story. Worked like a charm, btw)

Thanks, Sheldon Cooper.

Uhm... why would you settle on a Windows POS? There's Android and the iPhone. The mobile market is not as monopolized as the desktop market.
Can I hire your dog?

Don't forget about Bonjour, which today I saw in the Apple updater, and it was selected by default. I'm a Windows user, BTW.

i WIll Not get a jokE
Anyone else learned firsthand with TTD about maglevs?
Man, WTF? I used to use Windows 95 on a 486 with 16 MB and it didn't take nearly as much as that. It should be blazing fast on a Pentium III.
Because surely the dialogues astronauts have are completely random and unpredictable.

Yeah, I also misread it. Damn sensationalist Slashdot editors!

Or maybe it's about deformed dwarfs who got hooked off the earth's orbit. And no alien ever visited this planet.
Come on, now...

It does. Only (I believe) in Argentinian Spanish though, not in the rest of the Spanish speaking countries. http://www.elcastellano.org/miyara/dic_arg_esp.html (Site in Spanish)
Can anyone provide IPA on Zdziarski? Gee, that's seems unpronounceable
