Go follow the link to the hothardware site. Please don't tell me they are still going to ship their latest CPU ovens with a dorky heat sink that won't allow you to run the CPU beyond 40% sustained usage. I'll buy it after there is at least 50 comments on Newegg saying it works.
..and Intel and AMD, please blast through 3.2Ghz per CPU so all programs work faster all the time.
The statistics are not absolutes. They are general trends. What may not have effected you in the least may have tremendous impact on another. This study has been done time and time again. When you take a group of kids and sit them in front of violent games for hours and hours, they TEND to be more violent...on average. We can see these kinds of results in so many ways relating to media too. You become desensitized. Remember the days when you wouldn't hear a "swear word" on TV or the word "sex", if accidentally spoken, brought a blush from the TV anchor person? I do!
We shouldn't ever fall into the trap of thinking that because it doesn't effect me, it won't effect others. We still should be concerned about this and not forget it. I think we are seeing more effects in our society because of it.
Maybe we need to insert a bit of data. What are the length of the laces we are working with? Depending on the length of lace consumed by a know (assuming a tightening force equivalent to to perhaps 10lbs of pulling force and a lace width of 7mm and thickness of 2cm) we could potentially extent this by tripple or more...hence 42^42^42 or more. Do we really need to go into this more. What's the next topic coming up on/.?
Agree! I've made similar statements here on/., but seem to draw angry responses from many Mac users that think Apple never does any harm. We keep getting discussion like this one and yet people still look at Apple as their saviour.
Can you imagine if Apple were as big as MS? Almost everything they do would bring lawsuits against them. They don't allow competition on so many levels. Sure they have good hardware and software, but that ONLY comes through there tight control of both hardware and software. Would they open there OS to run on anything and allow you to download all kinds of junk and run it, I bet you would find Macs crashing left and right...driver conflicts, software conflicts, you name it. I would also bet that if MS had only 10 versions of PC's that they tested and sold with their OS (and nobody else could make a PC), it would probably run much, much better. Far fewer drivers. Not many hardware options to cause conflict. Much easier to bench test. As it is, MS has to test as many configurations as possible, but still manufacturers in China make some cheap hardware and drivers and get them installed on a no-name PC. Now you have a scenario MS never tested for and problems come in.
Apple's got it easy, but they are monopolistic like MS has never been.
I'm not convinced. If something is OPEN and is being developed broadly for general free use, then how is the effort helped by having one company (whether its Google or Microsoft or Apple) that says, "I know the way to go, follow me!" That is not open development. Soon each vendor will have their own version and none of them are compatible with each other. We jump back into Beta vs VHS and BlueRay vs HD. This only confuses the heck out of everyone as to what they should support and develop and adopt. Slows it all down.
I said moon not Moon. If you've never seen a moon, then you haven't laughed out loud. If you think I was talking about the object circling the earth, I would hope that you read the post again and get what I am suggesting. It's more interesting than talking about the Moon.
Perhaps this is too recent to be forgotten, but the huge announcements of the breakthrough of water powered cars that only release oxygen and water is always a good show stopper. Just funny home many times this keeps coming up and news stations keep latching onto it.
I don't think the democrats actually did it. Thy all hire private investigators to find this out for them. As soon as Palin hit the scene, there were tons of private and pubic investigation into her past. Do you really think that if they found serious dirt on her the dems would use it. The same for looking into the past of Obama, and they have used it too. It works on both sides. If you think that neither party does that simply because you support one side so passionately, you're blinded by your love. In this particular case, the Reps had nothing to gain by finding out anything more about him. Clerks have nothing to gain and their job to lose. The Dems had the most to gain since McCain was racking up huge points around this guy. Disgrace Joe, and McCains numbers go down. Simple math. It all adds up.
Sorry! When I first read this and saw that they could see a test image as normal. I was thinking if those guys have any senses of humor or not? For me, I would have enjoyed it if they pointed the telescope back to earth, zoom in on their own office building and moon the camera from a balcony. "Yep, you can see the freckle on Joe's butt just fine! Well done Joe! Nice photo of the moon!"
Why else would the records be pulled other than trying to twist the story that McCain had stated? Do you really think that McCain was digging for more information on Joe? Don't you think that Obama had something to gain by finding lies in the story or proving him not to be the All-American man? Hey, support whoever you like, but both parties have jerks working for them that are willing to dig trash for their party's advantage. Dems have one mark on their face...for as much as they talk about protecting privacy.
I used Hal 2000 almost 10 years ago, and it worked really well. I'm betting that it is refined even more for today. I had wished back then I could have developed a better tool, but now that you mention it, the cell phone would work great. I make my own small radio transmitter to send voice commands to the computer. You can also call the computer from a phone and give commands. Perhaps something that simply sends the voice from the phone to the computer would do? Now you're compatible with all phones much faster.

Take a picture of your dog. That would work. In any case, you still need to give the other person the image file of the photo you take. It has nothing to do with your skin and hair color. It the actual image file that must be on both ends. Just send out a new key, but not over the Inet.
Still missing it. It has nothing to do with who is in the picture. It has to do with the actual data in the file that stores the image. Put a badge on a person in a photo and the data of the jpg file will change. You could take 20 pictures of the same person standing in the same spot, and you will come up with 20 different files (binary code in the jpg, that is). This process only works by handing over the exact image file that you are using as your ID. If they don't have that exact image file, it wouldn't work.
If this was smart software designed to interpret an image, then getting a photo very, very close to the original might be possible, BUT this is an exachange of an actual photo. You must be standing next to the person at some point and give them via IR or bluetooth or SD or something, the actual image file that you are using. In some ways, it is just using some of the data of the photo file. It could have been a document, a song, or anything else. They just decided to use a photo, probably because it will be easy for you to identify and verify as the correct ID image...at least we hope you can.
I feel sorry for the guy. You should desire a projector longer than your pocket.
about a million years, and yes, the fungus turns into crude oil. No wonder they are nowhere near production levels.

With a setup like that, you just need the blue pill. Just the suppliment you appear to need.
Its actually 84. You forgot that you can always double-knot each of them too.

I personally like blond and voluptuous. Make a computer like that!
I thought he "invented the Net" when he was the V.P.? At least that what I thought he said.
How can a worm on the "net" be 20 years old? Gore wasn't in office yet!

For those who wonder what Gizmonic Institute is? MST3K

Was this developed at the Gizmonic Institute?

Biometrics is using something about you, your person, to measure or provide unique indentity. This is as much a biometric as a thumb scanner.
