Most of the animals we eat, eat things we can't digest at all. They often can do this on land that is completely unsuitable for agriculture. This can avoid all of the nasty things that come with industrial farming.
Your soybeans are much more environmentally harmful than the beef I buy.
Not sure any actual leukemia patients would take this seriously. That includes those of us for whom following this kind of thing is a serious full time hobby.
Except it's far FAR less obvious that bacon is as harmful for you as tobacco.
Nitrites in cured meats are a trade off. The trade off is the avoidance of dying from botulism or some other food borne illness.
Frankly I trust big business far less to kill me in the short term versus chemical additives that have failed to prematurely kill members of my own gene pool.
Even the "official proof" of the harm of nitrites is grossly overblown by the media.
Never mind time. This is a boom+bust kind of thing. You will have an entire season to generate a bumper crop at the end. That's the thing about real produce in general.
It's seasonal.
That's why you have things like canning, pickling, and fermenting.
Your window for having "fresh" food is very tiny. Modern tech and certain other shenanigans have given us somewhat unrealistic expectations in this regard.
Everyone can make the same choices. We all have the same free will. Most of us simply choose unwisely. It's not even a rich versus poor thing. Even the "rich" make many of the same stupid choices the "poor" do.
Everyone is encouraged by the same liberal media to make the same wasteful and counterproductive choices.
Vegan communists will be the first to defend nonsense like "Avocado toast".
> IBM was putting hard drives in their PCs long before 3-1/2" floppies.
They were putting SMALL hard drives into PCs, if you were lucky and spent enough for your machine. Either way, there was still a great need for floppies and external storage in general.
BULLSHIT. There are plenty of overpriced locations that manage to deal with cash. Some even leave you no other option. This makes it a dangerous prospect to travel without at least some cash as backup.
> Oh, they have to make their mods freely available?
You don't have to make mods available unless you are re-distributing the project.
The fact that you can maintain the project yourself is considered to be a major advantage by some companies. Some companies use software that predates Linux and GNU entirely.
> They have never censored, just as Fox News has never censored.
They have censored me numerous times. Some of those times didn't involve anything that could any way be considered rude, objectionable, illegal or misleading. I just said something someone disagreed with.
The FB police will censor and ban you over nothing more than that.
All it takes is a little mild deviation from their liberal narrative. You don't even have to be mean about it.
> That's simple. The fundamental rule has always been that facts are universal, opinion is personal. Virtually every respectable media outlet has a version of that doctrine.
You are living in a fantasy land there bub.
The media tells blatant lies about easily verifiable facts. They also mislead by hiding information that interferes with their "narrative" while promoting information that supports their narrative.
If you've ever had personal knowledge of an event or any technical subject, then you have inevitably seen this.
It's also pretty easy to fact check the media against different sources. Sometimes you can even fact check an outlet against itself sometimes even in the same article.
The real problem isn't "misinformation". The real problem is that the cat has been let out of the bag and far to many have had their "red pill" moment already.
...or you're just suffering from confirmation bias.
Who the HELL would move to Seattle to be a bum? Even what counts as "good" weather there is miserable. There's pretty much no time of year where it makes sense to go there to be outside (homeless or not).
It's obvious why anyone would go to coastal California for the weather (homeless or not).
> I love how when corporations perform tax avoidance strategies that they are cheats, but cucks who move states to avoid taxes are just doing their due diligence. You made your bed, so sleep in it.
The taxes wouldn't be so bad if salaries actually made up for the absurd cost of living. Health insurance premiums were worse in CA 20 years ago than they are now in flyover country even with 300% rate increases caused by Obamacare. Real estate and rental prices are equally insane.

Your soybeans are much more environmentally harmful than the beef I buy.
I bought some in my local meat section. The texture wasn't quite right and it gave me indigestion.
The stuff was expensive. More expensive than pasture raised beef.
I would much rather just go with some other alternative that's not trying to hard to be something else (like a bean patty).
> Maybe "orange man in chief" changed his diet enough he not be so orange anymore.
He's already made it to a respectably old age. He doesn't really need advice from butt hurt morons that might not even last as long.
> Fortunately, social science, like every other branch of science, does not need your faith to be real.
You're too funny.
Not sure any actual leukemia patients would take this seriously. That includes those of us for whom following this kind of thing is a serious full time hobby.
> The thing is, nothing you said was about food safety.
Sure it is. If you trust big business with uncured meat then you're a moron.
Except it's far FAR less obvious that bacon is as harmful for you as tobacco.

Even merely training for military service is dangerous and can get you killed or maimed. It's NOTHING like caring for a toddler.
Many of us have actually done both.
Some things are just stupid and indefensible.
Never mind time. This is a boom+bust kind of thing. You will have an entire season to generate a bumper crop at the end. That's the thing about real produce in general.

Even if you want to "eat healthy", there are better ways of going about it than buying into over hyped and over priced nonsense.
Simple frugal choices like cabbage versus kale.

> Superior at what? At flashy scrolling graphics demos?
PCs were crap. They were inferior both in terms of microprocessor features and actually having the OS use them. Microsoft was the real villain here.
The 68000 was roughly on par with the 386 in terms of having a large flat addressing space and a large number of general purpose registers.
DOS subjected you to manual memory management. The whole thing was hard coded with limitations from the original IBM PC.
Then there's the whole sound and graphics thing.
> IBM was putting hard drives in their PCs long before 3-1/2" floppies.
They were putting SMALL hard drives into PCs, if you were lucky and spent enough for your machine. Either way, there was still a great need for floppies and external storage in general.
> 3-1/2" disks are demontratably less reliable.
There are legions of people that have contrary first hand experience.
> Oh sure, dealing with cash certainly has that risk, a risk that credit cards do not have (at least not in the same way),
The maximum personal risk from the theft of a credit card is $50. So you might as well have as many Grants in your wallet as you do pieces of plastic.
BULLSHIT. There are plenty of overpriced locations that manage to deal with cash. Some even leave you no other option. This makes it a dangerous prospect to travel without at least some cash as backup.
Great question. Expect it to go completely unanswered.
Your gut should kill anything if you are healthy. Although there is still cross contamination to consider (touching your face).
Last year 80K Americans died from the flu.
Europe has also had it's own share of E Coli outbreaks with produce. The OP's sanctimony is entirely unwarranted.

If you don't howl with protest when ANYONE is censored then you have no business calling yourself a liberal.
