Turns out he had the mouse/keyboard cables plugged into the opposite sockets, despite clear labelling.
An easy mistake to make, especially in the days before the cables and connectors were colour-coded. Someone developed a fix, but the idea was killed before it could catch on...
Haven't you seen their ads? They wear ties. You know, 'cause all geeks wear ties! (Just look in the mirror, fellow/. readers!) And if they wear ties they have to be computer experts!
That only works in shareware Great Firewall, the registered version of Great Firewall, and Ultimate Great Firewall. In Great Firewall ][ and Final Great Firewall you need to use idclip. :-)

In order for the game level generation to make the game real fun it has to be dependant on what you have achieved so far and what levels have been generated so far.
Nethack does its level generation in game, but the only part based upon the player's past achievements is monster generation. Items and the map layout are based only on the dungeon level.
On the other hand, actually getting to the deeper levels requires a player with some experience points. Unless the player happens to have a wand of digging with lots of charges... or is heading to the Minetown priest for some cheap protection points.
And random item and monster generation in Doom (in game) would be cool.
I'll second this... I never worried much during exams and it's probably cause I did almost all of this anyway.
Except the Tylenol PM bit. If you're trying to avoid strange chemicals in your body you may as well avoid this one, too. Plus the lack of caffeine for a few days will help you get to bed early -- and sleep better, too. But I wouldn't go to bed at 6pm unless the exam is very early the next morning. Waking up an hour early is a good idea, though...

There is no random or even pseudorandom level generation.
Instead of saying "I need help getting the drivers working for my wireless network card", which will certainly get you an RTFM, you have to phrase it like this:
"lunix sux because you can't use wifi! i have a [insert name of network card here] that worked right away in windos xp! i didnt even need drivers! how come windows is so much better than [insert distribution and version here]? oh right its cause you all suck"
I guarantee that within an hour you'll have a dozen replies from people with exactly the same hardware and distribution as you telling you the steps needed to get it working, how easy it was compared to some dissimilar task in Windows, and how much you suck for not knowing this.
Probably cause the chances that a DVD burner doesn't work in Linux (or any other OS) is pretty small these days; the drives are almost always MMC compliant. There might be a few features on the more expensive drives (e.g. Plextor with GigaRec, etc.) that aren't supported by burning software, but it'll almost certainly still burn DVDs, which is what it's supposed to do...
And don't forget the Tandy 1000 series (at least the earliest models in it). Same video modes and sound chip as the PCjr, but a faster processor, nicer keyboard, and DMA for floppy access...
I and many many MANY webdesigners would kill, no.. go on a murder rampage for an image format that has alpha transparency to show a background through.
Well, it's not like they can go back in time to renegotiate their old contract. Maybe they should re-release the Yellow Tape, their 1991 album (the first independent one to go platinum in Canada)...
I don't know about the other artists but BNL's contract with Reprise Records expired in 2003. Technically they're independent (again), although the records are still being distributed by Warner.
And there's no sign of DRM on 2004's Barenaked For The Holidays. That's the album that was re-released on a USB key full of DRM unencumbered (but still lossy) MP3s last year...

It probably does, there's a NetBSD package...
Nothing, 'cause you keep backups.

They're not SD either...

SLIGE, SCUDD, SLUMP.
Okay, so they don't make breathtakingly amazing levels. But they're still better than 90% of the user-made Doom levels out there...
You have to know how to ask your questions.

They've already got it. And before you ask, they've got that, too.

Isn't that the OpenBSD User's Guide?
No it's not. If it were, most of the readership of Slashdot would be dead already.
Neither is snow, but we still hold the Winter Olympics every four years...
Better still, go to the library or coffee shop while intoxicated. Make the people around you appear more interesting.

Imagine a Beowulf cluster of these!

Shows how much you know. Avril Lavigne didn't even release her first album until 2002...
Maybe he doesn't count because he lives in England?
At least they didn't mention Celine or Shania. They don't live here either...

Klaatu barada nikto!
I don't think so; I have the same router (running firmware 2.53) and it only speaks to my own stratum-3 server.
