    No. Super computers tend to not have much in the way of graphics cards. Vista will not use software rendering. But for a mere 500$, you could upgrade the beast so it could.

    No, afaik, the problem of instability comes from getting the infrastructure in place, not the act of leaching energy. See, they have to dig these giant holes... Now, combine unnatural geo-formations with the act of leaching thermal energy (inserting massive cold spikes, wrt to the planet), and you wind up with a scenario where it is increasingly likely that you trigger something bad.

    I dunno, I'm more inclined to believe they were hit with some kind of patent lawsuit, and just folded. Netflix operates on razor thin margins, so if there was a good chance they would lose the patent suit, it could potentially obliterate that margin.

    That's not to say I would put the slimeball tactic outside of the realm of possibilities, but that just seems less likely.

    In their OEM licensing agreements, they will no longer be allowed to use disk images of for mass installation of XP. So they literally have to do a real install of XP for the customer.

    If you don't know what the VM size in OSX represents, then you should not be reporting it to others. If you do know what the VM size in OSX represents, then you would know better than to ever consider it a metric, and as such, you would not be reporting it.

    It's not a troll. His data is not what google trends reports, and isnt even remotely comparable to what google trend reports. In short, his results do not have any use at all. So really, can anyone explain why this matters?

    I find it highly unlikely that someone who can make the page in question would not be smart enough to also understand what it is that google/trend is really doing, and as such, I choose to believe instead that the author is being intentionally deceptive.

    Google trends plots how popular a search phrase is. This mashup of google results is not that at all. it is nothing more than a mashup of the count of pages in google's database. it has nothing to do with how often a phrase is searched for.
