Atom right now drinks power... it needs a ton of refining to get it to sip that power a whole lot less while in full on processing mode.

Os2 was still used heavily up until a few years ago. Many ATM machines ran it because it was 8000% more stable than any of microsoft's Operating systems.
Honestly OS2 can certainly thrive it has big blue's name behind it, If they make a Linux distro with it that is really hardened and stable, they can own several markets quite quickly.
Look at the government. They dont have a stable OS to use for any military operations.
I know a lot of people that wish that microsoft would make a real industrial OS instead of a Consumer grade OS with some security slapped on it for servers. They could do it, they choose not to because it's cheaper to maintain a single codebase and simply enable or disable features.
ME2 - far more limited in where you can go. I can explore 1/50th of the citadel than I used to. most planetfalls are super short and dont let you explore or find any hidden sub sub plots or little things that are just cool or gives you more gear. (the gear loadout is so limited in ME2 it's a joke.)
I finished ME2 in 1/4th the time it took me to finish ME1 and that is counting all the planet grinding you had to do.
Sorry but the sequels always suck. Yes GOW2 is not as good as GOW1. Just like Mass-effect 2 is not as good as Mass effect 1
I was enthralled with mass effect 1 and GOW 1 far more than the sequels... and my current bane... Dante's inferno has the same effect. I'm sucked in completely. something the sequels just cant do.

you are correct.....
you must enjoy the forced.... "Windows is updating your system" when you shut down and make you sit there waiting for 30 minutes because the damn laptop is doign a freaking forced windows 7 update at shutdown to avoid a "reboot" and you cant stop it.
Some of us use our computers for work, and windows 7 certainly forces reboots, a LOT. they just disguise it as work during shutdown. ubuntu could pull the same dirty trick.
I can install ubuntu and have it completely configured in 1/10th the time it takes Windows 7 to get installed and all drivers installed on the same hardware.... yes it was "ready for windows 7" hardware...

you have not used ubuntu in the past 5 releases have you.
Zero config.... Z-E-R-O. install software from the "install apps" button has Z-E-R-O skills needed. honestly, I handed my wife a laptop with a blank HDD and a ubuntu CD and she installed and configured it on her own.
That would be IMPOSSIBLE with windows, even windows 7 required a ton of skill to get all hardware working, Ubuntu worked out of the box on her Dell D620 including the wifi card... no installing anything or configuring anything.
Her only complaint was that Ubuntu wont blindly connect to wifi access points and iphone sync wont work.
She has been using this configuration for 8 weeks now. she has no desire to go back to windows. she knows nothing about computers other than how to use them for typing, and internet.

Exactly, and add another $0.10 for the blank CD to burn ubuntu on it and it's the same. except you can easily download and install a ton of free software with a single click on Ubuntu. That sadly is impossible under windows. There is no single click app store for non computer savvy users to take advantage of under windows.

Let's all ignore that a current version of ubuntu will run on a $5.00 P4 1.2ghz machine incredibly well. The local Salvation Army store has 10 such machines for $5.00 each. WITH A MONITOR... 15" crt, but-hey.
I have 3 QAM tuner cards in my mythbox and only RARELY do I use 2 of the tuners at once. smart scheduling coupled with most channels rerunning the days shows over and over makes it useless to have 2 tuners.
Yes I live in a n area where comcast screwed up and did a digital changeover and used the el-cheapo boxes... they cant scramble the QAM constellation so I can tun in all the regular and extended basic channels with my MythTV. I have about 50 shows on my recording list and is shared between 2 families and we rarely get a overlap recording event when 2 tuners need to record at once.
My 42" Panasonic Plasma cost me $600.00 at sears. and it's viewable with all the windows open in the room. The cheapest projector that does not need the room dimmed starts at $3500.00 and I really need a $7800.00 projector to work with windows shades wide open and lights on.
Yes my set is only 720p (the HORROR!) but I get HD quality, can watch all the broadcast HD in full res (720p is the MAX res broadcast sends and will ever send) My xbox 360 looks great, and netflix looks even better.
owning a TV has advantages, keeping the room bright while watching is one of the bigger ones.

if your DVD-recorder did not have a learning IR function, then you bought the wrong one.
My offbrand will blast IR signals to turn the channel on the cablebox. so this problem wont affect my Lite-ON.
