    Sorry but uptake of Win10 is still dismal. even with giving it away for free.

    If you count the latest macbook? yes, as it's more of a netbook.

    Microsoft needs to fire all it's marketing department and executives and get some people in there that have a clue. They botched a lot of the 10 rollout that made people distrust them more.... They need to desperately change that and the only way is to clean house at the top.

    My doctor has not used Fax for years. All my records are available on his and the hospitals website. and yes it is HIPPA approved.
    Hell I even sign things electronically on that website.

    There is ZERO reason for fax anymore.

    I want ALL calls that start with 800* to go to voicemail without exception and never ring the phone. I can do this with Asterisk. Why the hell cant I do this with google Voice? I know it is absolutely capable of doing it.

    Because until we get unmolested pure android OS installs that allow us to remove all baked in crap the Carriers and phone makers try and sneak in there, Android users will need a way to get a smooth and clean Android experience.

    Movies I want to watch more than once? I buy it.
    Problem is there is only 2 movies in the past 2 years I wanted to buy. Most of the others I only wanted to watch once or did not even bother watching.

    MAybe if Hollywood would make things that were not crap they would sell more? NAH, let's do a movie about a 1980's TV show instead.

    this right here is why a lot of iphone users that switch to Android switch right back. Google allows shitware to be baked in by carriers and phone makers (HTC SENSE is an abomination)

    Until google tells carriers and phone makers that they can not use the words android or google in any way or have access to the app market if they do not make the phone as a PURE phone with all their add on crap as removeable, conversion rate from ios to android will stay low.

    If android was 100% open then you could use the same phone for 5 years or more and they will not tolerate that.

    an HTC ONE M7 is a very capable phone today and if we were able to have full hardware api's that were open they would be running Android 7

    People do it all the time. Microsoft made a lot of money off of the home server product line and even had an OS for it. Now your router is your home server. Netgear R9000 runs plex server and a file server as well as your network. And they are selling fast. So lots of people want servers at home.

    or do what us professionals do. Refuse to use windows 10. Hell most of the engineering computers are still running 7 because it is massively more stable than 10.

    5years? My Macbook pro from 2011 still beats the hell out of most laptops made today. and it's benchmark numbers are only slightly lower than $900 laptops sold today as new. My workhorse Toughbook that I use for the garage CNC machine is from 2005 and it will not need to be replaced until it DIES.

    Maybe if intel started making processors that gave us real speed gains over processors from 2 generations ago? My desktop i7- 4th gen is benchmarking better than the latest and greatest from Intel's 6th gen. Why would I buy new and lose performance?

    Sorry but Intel will forever make desktop, workstation, and server processors, and you wil lbe able to buy cased, power supplies, motherboards, etc...

    Calling the death of the PC is one of the single most stupid trends in "journalism" I have seen in the past 5 years. I have heard these wannabe bloggers calling the death for a half a decade and it is still not even close to true.

    It's not for recording.
    It's for giving us Voice communication to MARS and back. If you have the ability to transmit voice over long distances using lower bandwidth, you can add in luxuries like checksums and redundant data so that when you send it a very long distance it arrive at the extreme distance away where your 10,000 watt transmission is weaker than a dollar store walkie talkie.

    Ham radio is where most of the breakthroughs in communication happen. I can see this mode used to allow voice communication with mars astronauts. We already have PSK31 allowing a ham with 2.5 watts of power to transmit text messages around the globe easily.

    That make it so you have to have a prescription to buy them in the USA.
    Canada they are over the counter and I buy them for my first aid Kit. it is 100% stupid to not allow anyone to buy them and make sure they can help to save lives.

    JW Blue is a waste of money. It is barely any better than JW Gold, and many many respected experts will say that gold is actually a better scotch.
    Honestly if you want to drink some good stuff get away from the Marketing junk that is JW.

    Macallan 18 is far better and is not a blended.

  23. I love those Fridges! They are running Android 5.1 so they are already 3 years out of date and you know they will never get an OS update or any application updates.

    Your fridge that lasts 5 to 10 years will not have to be replaced every year due to OS problems.

    Yeah how many phones supported bluetooth file sharing in 2007? NONE. The king of the heap was the blackjack running windows CE of all phones and it sucked horribly. everything was a nightmare and at times you could not answer the phone as the CE phone app would crash silently.

    the iPhone back then destroyed the competition because it was far more reliable than the other offerings that was not a flip phone.

    Sadly today.... I have experienced the "cant answer the damn phone" problem on my iphone 6S. Apple has absolutely lost their way, any phone should on phone ring fire a hard interrupt that forces the phone app to take over and work regardless of the apps in the background. it should be baked into the OS that answering a phone call is top priority above all else.

    The fact that it could not keep time and therefore failed horribly at a watch was also a big part of that.

    That and TI's API library was written by morons and the "free" Dev environment could not compile the demo....

    Yeah, it had potential.. but it was a huge failure just like the MSP430
