I'd say you get a fair amount of people in positions that should not be there, but are there for various reasons (liek seniority) and are entrenched and hard to remove. So you have people doing jobs they don't know because the job they did know was elimintated and they had 10 years. So the guy who knew his job, but only ahd 3 years is let go so they can keep the guys with 10 years.

You also get a fair amount of the "that's not my job" types. Their job has a job description and a list of tasks on their yearly review. If a task does not show up on them, they refuse to do it. They have the right to be this wy, because they do do the task that are on their yearly review. In the private sector (non-union), you get rid of these people.

For one, why am I standing in line? Lines usually indicate a lack of planning on the part of the line-maker. There's not much in this world that actually requires a line except to provide a terrible job for the otherwise unemployable

Why do you say that? The line at the bank hardly indicates a lack of planning. They know what days are heavy (Beg/End of the month, Fridays, etc.) However, it is finacially and logistically illogical to thin kthat they would ahve enough tellers working ot ensure that everyone has instant access.

Similar arguements could be made for other places with lines (Fast Food, Amussement Parks, etc.). Anything where you ahve more people that want to do something at the same time then can be provided for requires a line. Or should airplanes be designed that ~200 (everyone on the plane) people can board at once? Because by your standards, it is poor planning that they designed the plan with the concept of you waiting in line to get on and off.

Nit pic the word if you want. Maybe Selfish was a poor word to use. But lets not focus on semantics, lets focus on meaning, ok?

If you don't want to pay for music/movies/etc. for reasons X, Y, or Z, then don't use them. Companies/Artists/etc. produced them, and within our society they own the rights to them. If you feel that it should not be this way, then work towards changing the laws. And no, your downloading the files is not akin to the protestign done for Civil Rights.

Pro-Artist is buying their stuff if you want it, or gettign it for free if they make it available for free. If they did not make it available to you for free, then one can only assume that they do not want you to have it for free. Of course, this is complicated by the fact that Artist sell their rights to the music. But then, they don't won it any more and there is a social responisbility to respect the owner.

So the Pro-Artist mantra is, if you want it buy it. Else, listen to it in the free format they provide (radio, etc.). But don't infringe on their copyrights.

A $ can be spent multiple times. The concept is that if people paid for all of thier music, sure they would spend less elsewhere. But, those $ would not disapear, they would then be spent again and again and again. So the new jobs being made with the money spent on music would be able to be spent on the thing that it is being spent on now. the same $1 is spen multiple times within a year.
