As a former Telemarketer, I love the EGBG script... (now that is)...
The things Telemarketers hate most is wasting their time. What is probably more mean, is to pretend to be interested and ask ton's of questions about whatever they are selling. Go along and act like your going ot buy everything they have to sell and then right at the end say, "Nah, I changed my mind" and hang up...
While, I am sure that the Chinese Government occasionally represents the will of the people, having a 1 party system, means that the people are not offered the chance to choose leaders with different ideological belief then the current administration. So, I'd say it is a fair assessment that the current government does not represent the will of the people.
AS for fault, that is deviating from the conversation, but I'll indulge you:-).
Hmm.. could start with Japan, for weakening the strength of the previous government during WWII, which left the country too weak to protect itself against the Communist party.
You could blame the US for not coming to the aid of the Chinese people when they needed it during the end of WWII.
You could blame the world for continuing to do business with the Chinese government, instead of forcing political change through embargoes buy crushing their economic growth.
But, the obvious and best group to blame is the Chinese themselves, for allowing themselves to be Governed by a one party system. You could take the belief that because they allow the current Government to exist, that the current Government is doing what it does, at the will of the people.
At least in America, we vote for our current administration, where are the Chinese do not get that luxury.
Just saying, that in a Democracy, such as the US, it is more appropriate to refer to things the government does, as the will of the people. Because well, the majority of people who vote, voted that administration in. Where as, in places like China, the will of the people is no represented by the Government.
To bring this to physical world example, if the Gas Station clerk asks you for ID, and you forge a fake ID to purchase cigarettes, it does not make the act legal all of a sudden.
Your authorization to use the free Wi-Fi service is based on information you forged. Just because you tricked the authentication software does not an actual authorized user, it just makes you an unauthorized user with access.
a lot of my family works in the Medical field, Doctor's, Nurses, Physical Physical Therapists, Administration
Good work, but I personally could never spend that much time in a hospital, or around sick people. Guess because I grew up around it, I've had my fill.
Why does it have to be one or the other? Live the first 1/3rd for yourself, the next for your kids and the lat for yourself again.
BTW, many animals "are here only to feed, clothe, and provide for a generation whose destiny is also to feed, clothe, and provide". Why should humans be any different?

BUT IT IS NOT MY IDEA TO HAVE A 40 HOUR WORKWEEK.
People who talk about how a man should spend more time with his kids need to either stop complaining and do something to reduce the hours that men have to work in order to provide, or they can just accept the fact that society is just demanding more and more from people
But when you talk about the below $100k range, well, I'd rather sacrifice my happiness to get into the $100k range so my kids can go to Yale.
From your post, it seems like it IS your choice. You choose to work enough to send your kids to Yale. You choose to trade time with your kids to send them to Yale. Yale is not a requirement, they can live a good life if they go to a University, or even a community college.
You mention: if I could make $100k a year working 20 hours a week I'd rather do that than work 40 hours a week and make $200k
That is where YOU set your limit. You could work 20 hours a week and live off of $50k. BUt you'd rather trade your time for money. Society is not forcing this on you, you are.
IF the Kids are your #1 priority, then wouldnt getting thme out of a "household with with constant arguments, unhappiness, bickering, yelling and threats of divorce" be high on your list of things to do?
Sure, she learned to program. It's a little harder for a man ot learn to be a woman. At least one attractive enough to make money. And plus, that is a lot more of an investment then just learning how to program in HTML.
While I fully agree with you, I mean you should be able to build a voting machine after Intro into Computers.
But, I believe where it get's complicated is that you cannot record that John Doe voted for Person_D or Person_R. The voting has to be recorded in a way that does not give away someone right to privacy when they vote.
Now,
This should not be as hard as they seem to make it. But someone this is an unsolvable problem for them.
I knew I gave t oshort of an answer... Danr work:-)
IN the case of a 40 year old photo with unknown origins, nothing can be proven...
But what about this case, or child pornography in general, made you assume that we are dealign with 40 year old photos that had ot be scanned, versus recent photos that were taken by a digital camera? I ask because I did not RTFA, so I don't know if it mentions that all the found were 40 year old photos of unknown origin, or if that is an assumption that you threw out there..
So, I guess you are right, in the case a 40 year old photo of unknown origin, who cares. But I highly doubt that 40 year old photos of unknown origin make up more then 2% of child pornography on the internet.
be paid by the government, so that their work can be free
wow, that is a horrible idea... I agree, Windows Vista from the Government would be horrible...
As for the "free", it would not be free. It would be paid for by tax payers money. I already pay for people to send their kids to school, I wouldnt want to start paying for computer softweare I dont need too.
but I find it difficult to come up with a non-contrived situation where the poor judgement, ignorance, or even stupidity, of someone who falls prey to fraud or a scam is sufficiently damnable as to justify the crime committed by the fraudster/scammer
How about those people that fall for the "Nigerian" scams? It is their own "poor judgement, ignorance, or even stupidity" that cost them as well as their greed.
No kidding. About 75% of professors seem to think that it's acceptable to waste the students' time by conveying exactly the same information (and NOTHING more) that they could have digested with 10 minutes of reading via a 50 minute lecture. That's not education--that's a complete waste of 40 minutes.
Not everyone learns by reading... Some people require the professor to discuss the textbook material in class to help them understand it. Other people need both to read and to listen to the professor. So, while the information might be more "efficiently conveyed in text form", efficiency is not the goal, teaching and learning is.
I believe the parent posters is sayign that his time is worth $20,000, but it only cost him $1000.
So, at the end, he has paid $1000 to have 400 hours of sleeping later, eating breakfast, and/or stopping by Starbucks or Dunkin'Doughnuts that he valued at $20,000.
But the trouble is if you have lots of expensive high tech equipment, and expensive top doctors, when do you stop treatment? There is no way you can go all the way for everyone. So would there be some counter that when it hits say USD100k the doctors stop work on you and even to the point of letting you die, if you don't have a fresh "infusion of money"?
IF were going down that road, what would stop a "top doctor" for charging 10,000 a visit and use up your fund in 10 visits? Wouldn't it be better for the patient if the Doctor/Hospital/Insurance Companies were required to work within government controlled prices? That would insure that these groups are able to make a profit, while still being able to provide the needed healthcare at a level that everyone can afford?
Propel are not tired of it because most people to not feel the effects of it.
During other wars, it affected people's lives. You had the draft, rationing and other such things that meant people at home could not ignore the fact that we are at war. This war with Iraq has none of these things. Hell, we don't even feel the crunch of paying for it because were fighting it all on credit.
I would venture to say that most Americans do not feel that their rights are being violated and restricted beyond an expectable level. However, when they do feel that something has gone too far, it isn't the government as a whole that is causing it; it's the other parties fault. What parties? Well, the one you're not in of course.

All analogies are flawed... it was just to give another view... Either way, the rest of my arguement was valid.

"if some sicko's are trading 40 year old picture of naked kids online, as long as they are not actually hurting kids, who gives a fuck? "
The problem with that is that somewhere, someone had to take the photo. The child in the photo was abused/hurt so that people could trade the photo.
